I just see a bunch of people happy to see thousands of people out of work so they can save 20 bucks a week on gas.
That's me. And I doubt those people would give two shits about me if I was out of work while they were spending their oilfield cash either.

These actually exist? I thought it was just some silly OT joke.

Hate folks are out of work. As one who does service work though...lower prices have helped me immensely and my profit margin. Alot of friends who are also self employed in service work as well.

That would be impressive if true. I think I'd agree with your casty face.

All these people bitching about the O&G industry are too short-sighted to understand that it's not jus O&G workers affected. Everything in our economy is tied to the price at the pump.

Not my problem.
if it's on your fb feed, i think you can unsubscribe to these people's feeds.

Yes. Also tired of people starting threads about it.
You should cry to Facebook about it.
Then his name would be by his bitching. Bitches like to be anonymous next to their bitching.

The reason a lot of people on this board are happy about this situation is that they are jealous that someone without a college education is making twice as much money as them.

There are just as many with college degrees being affected right now....

but i'm pretty sure this goes beyond affecting just the 'trash' element, which is what people are not realizing.

for all the talk of O&G workers complaining, I have yet to hear anyone actually doing it. And I work in O&G in Lafayette. Are my coworkers and contacts concerned? Certainly. But I have yet to hear any of them actually bitch about the situation.
Seems the OPs problem is one gal on FB. Quit looking at FB. And quit painting with such a broad brush. You are no better than the person who labels all millennials as lazy and irresponsible because one 20something posts his thoughts on his student debt/living at home/degreed-but-no-job. Oh and while you're at it, quit stereotyping the F250/truck nut meme. I guarantee you there are more "jacked up trucks" with nuts on River Road in the plants then in most parking lots of O&G companies.

Exactly, most of the ones I know knew what they were getting themselves into. They also know that this is cyclical and things will come back

I feel for people that have lost their jobs.
Plus, there are a lot of interesting writeups out there about how this is going to affect other industries as well. I'll admit I don't know a ton about this aspect, but I skimmed through some articles about it last night before bed.
I don't really care about the cost of gas all that much. Even moving from the car I drove to the SUV I now drive, the difference from expensive gas to cheap gas is like $10 per fill-up for me.. which I don't need to do very often. Not enough difference for me to care. I'd rather people around me have jobs and be able to support their families.
