Check this site:

Fireball reports

It's not showing anything right now (other than one last evening in Georgia) so probably it wasn't very large - but maybe near. A couple of years ago I saw one that a few others on the OT saw. From reports to this site it flew NW over Alabama into northern Mississippi, so it was not as close as it seemed.

Must have been in Georgia then because I saw it east of Denham Springs. Crazy how close it appeared

Serious, I was out doing the morning run and in the east southeast sky. Left a serious trail and everything. It went daylight for about 2-3 seconds. It was pretty amazing.

I started to say something but wasn't sure. I saw the sky get bright south of town this morning between 5:30 and 6. Looked like sheet lightening from NW Houston.

Crazy. Watched it all the way down. Pretty sure it hit around Pete’s Hwy.

It was a flying trailer from a meth lab explosion in Livingston.

Saw one yesterday morning near Crowley. Thing was super bright. I may go to the UFO thread and claim it was a UFO instead of a meteor.

That was actually a low orbit satellite that is used to surveille Kibbles. They don’t stay up long then have to be replaced.
