Agreed. A lot of this math isn’t adding up. Can’t spend a weekend at a lake house while bringing home $200k+. Nah

My 2017 Explorer Platinum has 61k miles in 8 years, so at 15 years I should have about 115k miles. That's probably about half or less of what I should get out of this vehicle as it is very well maintained.

Again I didn't say I can't. I said we aren't because prices are insane.

The math and explanation was directed towards Waydown South's post and his math, not yours.

But if your numbers are the same as the ones he posted, then I don't see how $6K cash discretionary money after bills paid per month wouldn't be sufficient to live without feeling broke all the time.

absolutely.

Gave up dip because of the cost. Didn't have to. Just couldn't warrant $3,000 a year for tobacco anymore.

It’s a weird way for self validation for being a cheap arse. See it on this site all the time. They desperately want to be viewed as “poor” for whatever reason while putting $50k into their 401(k) and having a half million dollar mortgage.

It’s odd behavior

$100 for a polyester shirt made by a new company that advertises on podcasts is the definition of trashy

Now, theyre no different than women thinking the brand matters most.

Women control the markets. The compact suv craze is from women.

They complain about a pink tax, but they are the idiots spending $40 on a purple shampoo bottle. If some dude is spending that much on shampoo he's a fig.

Razors too expensive? Beards are back in.

Absolutely driving mine until the wheels fall off. When the new version of my truck costs $65k at supposedly the same trim level, and is still infinitely less reliable (looking at you Toyota and your turbocharged 4 and 6 cylinders)... I'm now on a mission to hit half a million in miles.

I gave up caring what my vehicle says about me and my status a few years ago, and now with these insane prices and less reliable engines dictated by the government I'm happy I did.

Maybe if the market ever resets and Toyota ever decides to bring back the naturally aspirated V6 and V8, I'll then splurge on a new car or truck. But as it stands right now, the value for the dollar isn't there for anyone that isn't just chasing a status symbol. And that goes for most makes and models.

Store your savings in things that don’t inflate and you don’t even have to worry about it. Best life hack I’ve ever stumbled into.
