Agreed. And the assholes who say “enjoy it, you’ll miss this” are the worst. I will not miss some of this because these schedules are insane. I also still don’t miss my toddlers melting the f down in the checkout line at Winn Dixie over not getting whatever candy they want and having the old people behind me say “soak it in you’ll miss this!!”
No, I don’t miss certain things. I very much know how to enjoy and soak in the important moments but running all over town with my BP SKY HIGH trying to constantly get from point A to point B without being late to get the next one, to rush home to feed kids, bathe them? No, I won’t. I will miss laying in bed and snuggling with them while we talk about life and random things.
Our lifestyle is very stressful this time of year but it does eventually ease up. But hell no I don’t and won’t miss December and Maycember. Ever.

Yes, but there's light at the end of the tunnel, headed to Grand Isle this weekend and next to hopefully put a dent in the trout population.
Mother's Day, an out-of-state graduation, my kid's birthday, Friday night teeball games, concert in Mississippi, etc etc. We have one last tee ball game this friday then headed south. Seems like we've had something every weekend for about the last 2 months.
My little girl did dancing for the first time last year and I'm lowkey thankful she hated it as they schedule their recitals every year on Memorial Day Weekend and I wasn't thrilled about that.

Maycember? WTF? I call it being an adult and get up at 4:00am every morning to do so.

Thank God for curbside being available. I rarely step foot inside HEB. The convenience of curbside is too hard to pass up.

Better than me. I’ve had so much shite going on I forgot to get the wife anything for Mother’s Day. Going on about 27 hrs of the silent treatment at this point and she made me sleep on the couch.

i feel your pain; my sassy 16yo daughter threw a tantrum sat. night b/c and pretty much ruined mother's day for my wife the next day so still trying to repair the damage from that one.
don't mess with mama's day

I do get up at 4 am, work full time, and still have to run a house and the lives of 4 kids. May is hell.
I think getting an au pair would improve my life.

I have all groceries delivered. I stopped shopping in stores with my kids a long time ago. If you catch me in a grocery with all my kids, I have planned poorly or am experiencing an emergency. Or instacart has ceased to exist.

Why complain about this. Enjoy it. You never know when it might be over.

Especially for girls, seems like everything is crammed into the spring.
Volleyball, softball, soccer, dance and even some AAU basketball.
Luckily we didn't do the travel ball crap with my boys and they just do football then basketball and track. Football is every morning in the summer though.
It gets better as they get older. So glad all those birthday parties are over.

It's not a myth, You better believe it happens

No lies detected on the birthday party deal. As they get older they have smaller parties so your kid isn’t getting invited to every single party from their grade.

I just wanna stay home. Soccer practice, games, daughter's dance and choir practice and recitals and 2 daughters birthdays and my birthday and mother's Day and my fil graduating college at 70 years old and end of school activities, 23yo daughter needing help moving to a new apartment and field trips and out of town visitors...
I'm tired, boss.
You're gonna miss this...

You will certainly miss the graduations, the sports events, the banquets, the concerts, the tons of places you haul them to...If you think you won't, just wait. I will always and forever miss December and Maycember. I absolutely LOVED those busy, busy times. I had no sleep, was constantly running to Target for some random gift for somethings, was running from a baseball game to a gymnastics meet, but those are truly the best days of your life. I love keeping my grandbaby and having time to go out with friends, but those busy days were the best. You are just blatently wrong because you don't know what you don't know yet...or maybe men are just whiny babies who want it to be about them instead.

I think there's some nuance between the "you'll miss this" and the "this is fricking miserable". It's reasonable to think there's a bit of both there. It's like the whole "I love my kids but they're annoying the shite out of me right now" argument. You're not a hateful person if you recognize it's not all sunshine and roses but will miss the good things that come from that period of your kid's lives.
I don't even have one that's super active at the moment (16) but have lot of family with younger kids so we've literally had a birthday or holiday every weekend since mid-April. It's fricking exhausting.

Feel like I can't keep up with the kiddos activities at school and baseball. Plus house cleaning and projects from someone moving in, which means more stuff and more organizing or I'll lose my mind. The yard looks like shite too, but thats his problem, not mine.
Plus someone quitting at work and instead of dividing the work they gave it all to me for the time being. So that's also fun.
But I have a vacation starting Saturday so I'm about to not care for a week.
