No way you'll be able to drive back Sunday. I would have another plan...
I mean I am north of the beltway. I take hwy 90 in Beaumont to get here. If it's stalled west it seems as ling as I am here Sunday morning I may be ok, but yeah good chance I don't go unless I plan on staying. Problem is they may get the shite mid next week.

I seriously hope I am in b.r. New model continues to have it chilling until Monday near Corpus so I think I can drive back Sunday morning. I will decide tomorrow a.m.

We're staying, but I'm not excited about it.

Just praying my area stays out of the path of the cone of totality. I'm nervous.

The only place I have to go is east and staying there past Sunday is certainly a trap so I will be here for the majority of the real shite. Tell Rick we can help him drink the beers.

I told Rick to stay North for a while. I think he was supposed to be driving back in Sunday from his eclipse vacation.

Yeah he should but he should also get someone over there with a key if the power goes out and we can have a share.

I'm in Rice Military area and my place is not in a flood zone.
Been here 3 years and never flooded, but the close proximity of the bayou worries me.
I'm getting the hell out though. No power during August in Houston will be awful.

Leaving tonight to go hang out with friends in Dallas for the weekend. One of the stress free advantages of a renter.

Why are many of you confident that power outages will be an issue? I think of that as more wind-related. While I know there will be tons of rain, I didn't think winds were forecast to be much of an issue in Houston.

Lots of strong storms with lightening and gusty winds can easily frick up some power.

I'm riding it out here in KW. I start back working nights Sun unless they bring in the hurricane team. The April flood in 16 came over the West Lake Hou bridge So I had to detour over to 59. I just hope we don't lose power.

What are people in Seabrook doing? I have relatives that live about half a mile from the water in a new, two-story brick house. I offered them a place to evacuate if they need it but they don't seem to be worried.

I'm right at the edge of The Woodlands and Spring. We are staying put, this area didn't flood last year and received 20+ inches of rain. Just a couple of miles down the road did though, but it does sit a bit lower than we are.

Yeah but where I am by Ella and 43rd floods, but drains quickly. I think we might be okay.
damn. just moved from that area. rented a house on Lido Lane off of 43rd. we would've been neighbors.

now this guy is my neighbor. We are in Cypresswood off Ella. Didn't flood here in 2015 or 2016. Couple blocks away did. I think we are staying and riding it out.
We are stocked on water, gasoline, and propane. But i'm worried about food supply for more than 3-4 days. I guess we'll be all right if the AC goes out and we live off BBQ meat from the freezer a day or two.
