Linemen are important, but they're doing it for $, not some sort of self sacrifice.

frontline workers too busy in their empty hospitals doing tik tok videos to be useful, I guess unless you're in the Our Lady of the Sea hospital that got the barn doors ripped off for good measure.

Linemen = pole dancers, which means they to will become nurses..some day.

This has also brought to light the mind numbingly large number of people who don’t know the difference between man and men.

That is dumb.

Not according to the linemans safety meeting yesterday morning. He will most definitely be last, not even his wife can save them now. Lol

I think he’s just jealous of the positive attention they are getting, because they are doing a vital service at a time when people are most in need.

It’s not like they are saying “look at meeeeeee.”

It’s just the nature of them bringing back the power and that sweet sweet AC.

Who cares if they are getting paid? If they got shitty pay they’d stay with their families and friends and let us sweat. They are skilled workers in a dangerous environment, these aren’t McDonald’s workers, of course they demand high pay

No chance of dying at all. One of the safest jobs out there. I think it ranks somewhere between Fortune 500 CEO and CPA.

I get it. These guys left their family’s and homes and came to Louisiana to help us get power restored. I get it they came here with no hotel rooms and to work long hours, but let’s be real for a second. They are getting PAID and paid pretty handsomely, and getting per diem. Let’s not act like these line companies don’t thrive on this shite. They will be chasing the next storm to make that money. Yea they need a place to stay and I’m thankful for churches and the like that have put them up, but literally everything I see in the media is about how bad the lineman have had it in these conditions. I mean shite can the people who actually had damage and lost nearly their whole lives get some attention.

Sorry /end rant.

Imagining waking up, having this thought come to your head, typing out an entire paragraph's worth, hitting send.....and then sitting back thinking this was a good thing to post.

Yeah, those linemen have it made making all that cash. They also have the added bonus of keeping their weight down working in an environment with 110° heat index in boots, long pants, long sleeves, hard hat and safety vest.

Don’t forget about the possibility of getting electrocuted because some idiot illegally back feed their generators into their homes instead of installing a transfer switch or interlock

I didn't say it was a safe job. I said they are doing it for the $ and not self sacrifice.

To be fair, they are getting their share of bad attention in the aftermath of the loss to UCLA.
