Anybody work with the Brits?

I recently started a new role at work that requires me to interact with our UK division on a public transport project in London. I like them a lot, seem like decent, hard workers for the most part.
My take away so far is that they tend to be more precise and detailed while Americans tend to not “sweat the small stuff”. The two styles almost compliment each other imo. Americans are much better at pushing big projects through while the Brits can be relied upon to come up with smart, well developed approaches to overcoming the more specific problems.
Curious what the OT’s experiences working with them are like? Agree or disagree with my experience?

I’ve been living over here since the early 2000s, and I’d say that’s a pretty good summary. They are definitely less outgoing and brash than us Americans, and sometimes too polite when they should take up for themselves.

I worked in the export business years ago that had Brits, French, Greeks etc. the Brits it seemed were the easiest, Greeks were always tightly wound up.
We had open credit banking contracts that were part of the process and at this time fax machines were the prominent way to send documents overseas.
The annoying part of this process was sending 100 page documents via fax, you send it and a response would come saying that they didn’t receive pages 26, 44, 53, 65, etc. instead of figuring out what pages they were talking about you’d just send the entire contract via fax again.
Good times

I’ve found working with Brits to be tiresome. They refuse to break protocols and can’t see opportunities in front of them

I would agree with your summary. Been working with them for decades. They are very procedural. Germans are similar.

Owner of a new and used vinyl, cd, cassette store helped me out the other day. He was in his 50s and had a cockney accent. I'm counting that.

Did some training with some of them in the military. They were some pretty cool guys.

They never return emails over the weekend which is frustrating but also somewhat admirable.

Brits are no nonsense. The ones I work with never miss a day. They never complain unless it is about the food.

I work with a brit. Hes one of our field engineers. The guy knows a lot regarding our field of work, but hes a drunk, who never shows up on time, never gets his shite done, and always has some dumb arse excuse for missing work. So to me, he's a blithering idiot. I would have run his arse off if it were up to me, but fortunate for him, it is not my call to make.

Sounds like a winning plan.
I guess this is also why Louisiana can't get out of its own way.

Ask them if they grew up on Lady Hole Lane near Penistone.

You mean like tanking the world´s economy by illegally packaging subprime ninja mortgages, wrapping them with some proper product, and selling them as investment grade?

Not with the Brits...but I have worked a ton with the Welsh. I freaking love working with them. They truly follow the "work hard/play hard" mantra.

British Royal Marines taught me how to play ninja, hunter, bear.
Thats about it.
Thats about it.
