Anybody on here ever take Trintellix?

It’s one of the newest antidepressants. Supposedly it’s much improved over the old SSRI’s, and it doesn’t cause the weight gain, sexual dysfunction, or tardive dyskinesia that older drugs cause.
There’s no generic version yet because the patents haven’t expired, so it’s quite expensive. However, there are some coupons you can use.
For those of you who have taken it, what positive and negative results did you see?
I currently take Wellbutrin and it’s decent, but I was wondering if Trintellix would have a little more “umph” to it and do more.

I stick with the tried and true bourbon and porn addiction to find happiness

That doesn’t seem to really make anyone happy. It just gives you a quick dopamine hit, and then you feel like shite later.

Any difference yet? Positives and negatives?

What do you pay out of pocket? I’m in the same boat. Looking to make a switch.

Trintellix is supposedly weight-neutral (think that's becoming more debatable with more studies, however). Also relatively milder, but considered a little "cleaner" than some of the other ADs. Also more expensive since it doesn't have a generic.

I thought vilazodone was the least likely serotonin focused antidepressant to affect sex drive, but it also might not be as effective.
Some doctors will add on an SSRI to Wellbutrin, but I don’t know about vilazodone or Trintellix.
Edit: maybe not trintellix and wellbutrin

How do you like it?

Vilazodone is one of the more potent, which means it also has some fairly undesireable sides.

And....how is this any different from taking a pill repeatedly?

I’ve used that combo to great effect. You have to do 1/2 the dose of trintellix however due to the Wellbutrin’s effects on the liver enzymes that metabolize trintellix. If that doesn’t work ask your doctor about Auvelity or even Spravato (intranasal ketamine).

eventually people will realize that a single strong dose of psychedelics in a safe environment will do more for your mental healing than a lifetime of tranquilizers

Tell me you don’t know anything about how antidepressants work without telling me.

Stay on Wellbutrin if it’s decent. But trintillex is the only antidepressant that was proven in a double blind study to work. All the others got so so results
Spravato works decent if you fail antidepressants repeatedly

I started taking Trintillex since September and it has made a world of difference helping me combat depression, where many other meds failed. I've found a coupon where I'm only paying $10 for a 30 day supply so the cost is absolutely worth it.
I haven't had any side effects. Weight is normal and I still got my mojo. You do have to be patient for it to start taking effect; it took about 8 weeks for me to start noticing a difference.
I recommend trying it, but I would also strongly encourage doing a DNA test that will look at what medications metabolize better based on your genetics. This is a big help for psychiatrists because it shortens the list of meds that are most likely to work for you. I got mine done through Genesight.

During Covid, my ex wife went through an 18+ month depression episode. During that crazy train, she convinced our entire household that we were the problems, so we all went through therapy and were assigned an SSRI. My therapist tried this with me and I hated it. Come to find out I wasn't depressed, just anxious, so zoloft was a better option.
I was only on Trintellix for a few weeks and quit. I used zoloft to get me through the rest of her depression and then I got off of it after she moved out.
My poor fricking kids were put on zoloft too, but fortunately they are completely off of that as well. This was about four years ago.
Long story short, you may not need anything but a stable environment around you.

I started on trintellix when it was brand spanking new. It even had a different name. It was Brintellix at first but they had to change the name because docs and pharmacists were confusing it with another like named drug (scary thought).
I was on trintellix for about two solid years. I had weight gain. I had sexual dysfunction. I’ve been off all antidepressants for several years now and doing fine. I do worry about potential long term effects from antidepressants
