Saw those things rolling out of that shitty tent fulfillment center this morning in BR.

Are they more reliable than USPS?

You can track them via UPS if your package is on it and how many stops until they get to your house

By fulfillment center, we mean that an 18 wheeler comes with packages for the greater BR area and those packages are transferred to Amazon’s own delivery vans instead of using the USPS for house deliveries? It’s not a place that stocks amazon inventory.

For about the last month they've been delivering mine in AP. Me and the wife were sitting on the patio one Sunday and a lady walks up to the gate and says Amazon delivery. I told the wife the mail lady has never done that before, then noticed the delivery lady was in a Chevy Malibu.

Funny you mentioned it. Just seen two of these vans backed up to an 18 wheeler in Walmart parking lot in Lake Charles off Nelson rd. loading up. Was curious what they were. Now I know.

Yes. Since they've had their tent city up and running, almost everything I order is originating in Mobile and getting trucked into B.R. for delivery.

A couple of my deliveries have sent me texts saying they are 4 stops away or I was the next stop. When those deliveries were made they also sent me a text with a picture of the package at my front door. I assume this is from the new vans.

I don't like getting constant alerts from Amazon saying my package is X stops away, then getting a picture sent to me of the delivery.

It's just too much communication from Amazon that I don't need.

I also don't like regular Joes pulling up to my house in their personal car to deliver a package.

Ha. Was just about to post this. I'll go home for lunch and see about 8 vans in a circle with the arse ends facing each other. You see all of these packages thrown around on the ground. Looks real professional, lol.

If I remember correctly, they are constructing a permanent fulfillment center near Costco. It's obviously not done yet.

Not sure how that tent will work out on the handful of days that Baton Rouge has cold weather.
