I wish it was. I try to have a good relationship with him but it’s impossible for me to tolerate him more than an hour or 2 a week. He is usually gone for most of the year with my mother traveling. But now they are home and he can’t act right.
I am shocked he hasn’t caught the virus with his habits, age and traveling. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was patient 0 but asymptomatic.
But the man refuses to respect people’s boundaries. Driving me crazy. I’ve tried the nice thing. Didn’t work.

My FIL is living with us and he's afraid to even go outside most days, but still decides in the middle of the day to go outside.

If nothing else, it’s a lack of respect for you and your family as well as your wishes, and that in and of itself is what’s intolerable, not to mention it puts all of you as risk.

Me and my family are super close to a girl with Downs’ Syndrome. My kids call her Aunt. Before this corona thing, we saw her at a minimum of once a week. Either here or at her parents house.
But this girl when I was a kid was not your typical case. My favorite documentary is Up Syndrome. If she had a documentary, it would be called Mean or Evil Syndrome.

My family loves each other so we don't have that problem. We know it is better for everyone to still see each other face-to-face regularly.

My mom floats between melting about people not practicing social distancing at the grocery store or people making unnecessary trips to wherever and showing up randomly at my house to chat and getting pissy when I decline to come over for dinner 3 times a week.

My (grown) kids are awesome. They realize I have asthma and would not want to risk coming over. Some of our friends whine constantly because they are used to dropping by our house. They are mad because I say no and they are married to people who work in healthcare with positive patients in the facility. But don't understand why I don't want them on my patio while the SO is at work.....

It’s more about boundaries. The one person that is the most unhygienic, was in Asia in March and takes the least amount of precautions should be the one person exempt from my own personal boundaries for my family? Not only was he in Asia but he initially lied to us saying they were only going to Europe. My mom refuses to tell a lie so that didn’t work out for him. Not sure why he would lie because they constantly post on FB while traveling. They had hell flying home.
I love my dad but he is very similar to the small weasel politician type bad guy you see on movies. Reminds me of the bad guy on Billy Madison.
