I really had to threaten my dad for constantly showing up to see kids after repeatedly telling him to stay away. He hasn’t quarantined at all and goes everywhere. He doesn’t even keep sanitizer with him.
At first I allowed him to stop by outside only while keeping a distance. He has repeatedly pushed those boundaries. My wife won’t say anything to him but it pisses her off.
Today I pulled up to the house after going to check on the camp and I caught him actually taking a bite of fish from both kids plates and putting it back while telling them he had the virus. It is insanity. He thinks it’s funny but I blew the frick up. I seriously had to threaten him physically if he comes back before the virus is no longer a threat.
He is a classic narcissist that gets enjoyment from antagonizing the grandchildren and scaring them. I feel bad for my mom having to be around him but I can’t take it anymore. If he does it again, he will be the next Covid-19 victim. The old man mentally abuses them just like he did with me and my brothers and sister.
Hopefully y’all don’t see me on the news soon.
I already knew that you have to create boundaries for family members that are narcissist but I failed this time obviously.
I’m sure others are having this problem too.

No.

Your kids will be fine, don't worry. Your Dad is just helping keep the curve moving along so we can all get back to normal.

Threatening your dad because he wants to be around you and you’re kids? I hope he kicks your arse.

I admit I am using corona as an excuse and I have no shame in that. Not the greatest relationship and my mom could kick his arse.

I’ve fought a girl with Downs’. I’m not worried about looking trashy beating up my elderly dad.

I thought this was a story of a good-natured grandfather who is too easy going and wearing on your nerves

But maybe your dad just sucks and you should tell him to frick off?

My grandma will not stay home. She even had direct contact with someone who tested positive three weeks ago and bought a car and went to the bank and post office numerous times. She did not get the virus, but still pretty dumb.

She said she wasn’t going to waste time staying at home at her age.

You're a total POS for even saying this, true or not.

My inlaws. They've all been working from home, but my mother-in-law's husband goes shopping and will hit 4-5 stores in a row and not keep sanitizer, gloves, or wear a mask. Lowes, Home Depot, Walmart, Target, grocery stores. She goes along with him and sometimes stays in the car and sometimes goes in. She was a long-time smoker, so more susceptible to the Corona and having complications if she did happen to catch it. Plus they're both in their 60s and not exactly healthy. She has had heart procedures done, and I know her lungs must be in less than perfect shape.

They texted a couple of weeks ago at the start of this and wanted to drop off donuts. Fine, sit them at the door and stay in the front yard and we'll bring the kids out to talk. Which is odd because before all this they would never venture over to where we live. Always wanted us to come there for dinner. Since then they have been by 3 times, two of those unannounced. They know we're home, working, and just showed up one afternoon last week with food. And we have a little one who doesn't understand why he can't run to them when he sees them, so it makes it even worse.
