Define "near".

OK, Des Allemands ain't nowhere near BR, but if you have a day to poke around the back roads of south LA, go take Authur Matherne's tour. Guy really knows his stuff, and you will eat well getting there and back.

Zams is in Kraemer and us about an hour from South Baton Rouge. Highly recommend it. Stop and eat at Trudys on the way out

Cajun Pride Swamp Tours

I've taken this one .... not a airboat tour, just a plain ol party barge style boat and an outboard. No matter which type tour you take...weather is key. Too cool/cold and the critters don't come out.

You can even try a couple pretty nice restaurant close by....Frenier Landing and Bec's at the Lake.
