and not the roofing kind.

Rash came up on my stomach Sunday morning and it began spreading over the last 24 hours. Nurse friend said it looked like the shingles. No blisters yet but I assume that will start shortly.

What type fun do I have to look forward to? Should I just live in an opiate induced coma for the next two to three weeks

It is the worst discomfort I've ever been thorough. It's horrible. I wouldn't wish it on Hitler.

Had that shite when I was in the 3rd grade, no matter how bad the itching gets DO NOT pop the blisters, it'll just spread the rash or lead to staph. Don't really remember much except the constant itching on my shoulder but I remember I was out of school for entire week.

That young? I thought singles was what adults get if they had chicken pox as children.

My grandma had it. It's basically like the worst sunburn you will ever have.

You can get them as a child still, I don't think they will come back. I sure as hell hope they don't.

It sucks arse. I waited way too long to go to the doctor b/c I thought I had a rash from switching to a new deodorant and got the worst pain I can remember out of it.

Go to the doctor and get the meds now before you feel the some of the worst shite ever.

What medicines are out there? I see a commercial for shingles but the medicine has awful side effects.

Take that medicine asap or it will cause nerve damage and hurt you indefinitely.

It is happening at younger and younger ages now. Never heard of a 9 year old, but know of people in their early 20s.

The older you get the worse they hurt. I have had them 4 times - I had my first bout approximately a year after I had Lyme disease. Docs say it's unusual for someone my age to have multiple outbreaks - they say it could be the result of the lyme. 1st time in my late 30's - didn't hurt at all - With each bout the pain gets progressively worse. Only needed narcotics the last bout and only for the first two days.

Telltale sign of shingles is that the blisters are always on one side of your body only.
If they are on your neck or face, go to the doctor immediately bc I have heard shingles can cause blindness or Bell's Palsy...

I had it when I was in my early 20's and can tell you that is sucks balls. it has to be the strangest pain I have ever felt...somewhere between an itch, a burn, and a sting...

if the rash grows out in lines like it is following blood vessels or nerves, you have it...
