Statistically, it's more surprising that the dad is there at all

Probably not that kid’s biological father.

My son would have had to hit a girl for me to pull that. That's really not any different than punching holes in a wall. That isn't disciplining at all.

That's not how to discipline your child. Ever. Now, would I spank my kids for poor behavior, yes, but this isn't that.

ehhh, you need to know what the kid did before you judge. May've left the front door open for the 20th even after the dad said "I won't tell you again stop leaving the door open I pay for that cool air you do it again and I'll beat your arse I swear to god. "

But yeh, I’ve seen plenty of welfare queens beating the shite out of bad kids at Walmart in my time. Seems to really work….

This. I'm not against spanking, either. The beatings (like in the video) tend to correlate amongst the "welfare queens", low class and white trash.

100%

And then as I got older, it turned into him telling me to fight like a man. He’d try and get me out in the yard to throw down. We did as much on a number of occasions.

Now I’m 35 and realize how wrong that was. He was also usually a little drunk.

The Korean woman I worked with for years told me a story about a Korean couple she knew. Their boy was acting out and got a whipping. He told the liberal school councilor about it and the parents got into trouble and suffered a long ordeal. No more corporal punishment for the kid.

Then they went to Korea to visit their parents. That boy got his butt torn up right in the middle of the airport.

After that, if he acted up, they ask him if he wanted to go to Korea.

Maybe he did something that deserved an arse beating. Ever think of that?

You mean like raping his little sister or something like that? Somewhat different than eating the last piece of chocolate cake.

Family or not, that leaves a mental scar for a long time. Couldn’t do that that bad to my kids

Here is the deal with beating a child, you can be a great parent, take them to the zoo, go to all of their games, help them with homework, read them bedtime stories, take them camping and fishing, all the good things. One severe beating erases all of that, 50 years later, when you are gone, that's what they will remember about you.

Find another way to get the result you want, you want your children to remember your love and wisdom. not your belt.

I'm not sure if it's because he changed or more likely because I learned to get my shite together, but my dad stopped beating my arse around 9 or 10 I think.

My mother would lose it, grab a belt and start swinging. Thankful her hand was on the buckle end.

To be fair, me and my brother put that poor woman thru Hell when we were kids......then we became teenagers and it got worse.

R u kidding...roll on back to 1972 and every kid on my block got the hell beat out of them...my Dad would pick you up by one arm so you couldn't run...you got it twice as bad if you covered your arse and legs with your hands.
When you Gen Z snowflakes tease us Boomers for being such hard asses, just know that you "time out" survivors have no idea.
This story should shed a little insight as to why we don't have the capacity to listen to you bitch and whine about your hard little lives.

Man my mom... It all depending on how emotional that shite made her. My brother, who is ten years older than me, I saw her beat the dog shite out of him because he said something like "I sure the frick hope not" talking to his friends and she heard him.

But the think was.. she cussed as well so it wasn't like we were some holy rolly family, she was just in a pissed off mood.

This might be a little extreme, but i'd like to know what she do.

A proper upbringing includes unconditional love along with some healthy fear. Too many parents forget the second part, then wonder why their kid grows up to learn lessons the VERY hard way.

Sounds just like my Nanny, ( dad's mom). She would beat you for just looking at her wrong.

She was a mean, old bitch.

Meh...

My dad whooped me with a weightlifting belt once. I deserved it to.
