Yes, from raw oysters. Intense stomach pains and cramps and straight water coming out of my arse. Whenever I thought it was done, the next wave of water shits would hit me. I laid on the bathroom floor for hours and hours because it was too difficult to make the trip from my bed to the bathroom with the cramps and constant shitting. First 24 to 48 hours were hell on Earth. Day 3 or so saw the cramps mostly gone and the water shits turned into more of a normal diarrhea for a couple days.

Had a test in a summer course day 3. Test took about 3 hours. VERY unpleasant test taking experience.

The Dry Heaving was the absolute worst

I did get a Canada Dry Ginger Ale on the way in to work.

I am not going to lie, I used to make fun of employees who would call in sick because of food poisoning. Not anymore.. I totally get it now

The thing that really sucks is that I am a zombie at work because I am on Zero minutes of sleep

Once. Ate some spaghetti that had been left out overnight. Worst 24 hours of my life. Throw up so bad that I had to lay on the bathroom floor after I got done. Diarrhea every few minutes. Couldn’t keep water down. Couldn’t sleep because you would shite the bed.

Twice that I know what true food poisoning
As soon as I put the crawfish in my mouth I knew I would be sick later, sure enough about 6 hours later woke up in cold sweats
Was sick the rest of the night, laid on the bathroom floor until about 6:30 when I called my parents to take me to the ER

Had severe food poisoning about two years ago.

Woke up 8am on a Friday spewing projectile vomit over the side of my bed. Followed by non stop diarrhea and puke (sometimes simultaneously)

Couldn’t hold down more than about 4 oz of water (slowly sipping) without puking it up within minutes. It was like clock work, every time I introduced something to my stomach it would come up.

After two days I became severely dehydrated and had to go to the ER around midnight. Nurse started to panic after checking vitals and immediately started an IV with saline.

About 6 hours and 3 saline bags later the nurse mentioned I looked like a different person because I had gotten my skin color back.

Could have been bad if I hadn’t had gone to the ER that night. I was 22, home for the summer and parents were out of town. Nobody was around to check on me and I was just trying to “tough it out”

lesson learned

Roto/Noro viruses have often been confused with true food poisoning.

I’ve had true fp twice. One was Bacillus from On The Border......frick them!!!!!!

Congrats on more than likely ruining at least one coworkers weekend by making them go through the same thing. No one is so vital to their company that they can't take a single sick day off.

Yeah. Cane's Box Combo.

about 10 hours of what you described once every hour. Just laid on the bathroom floor the whole night after the second time.

Call in sick if you can, you'll be pretty worthless. Stick to just water for a while and then maybe something light around dinner.

Yep. Happened to me.
Stay in bed next to the bathroom until it passes. Might be a full 24-48 hours depending on how fast your body is getting rid of the foreign substance. **and drink tons of water! Your body will be so dehydrated and that will cause you to be very weak. Drink as much water as you can even if you throw it up.

Several times - once from a Burger King in Lake Charles, another time from a Waffle House in Pascagoula, MS, and several other times by eating food that had been in the freezer/refrigerator too long. Not fun times...at all.

Yes. From KFC years ago. Went to the ER and puked on the ER nurse.

It was awful, and the worst I've ever felt in my life. The worst of it only lasted a couple of hours.

once when i was 18. working in a shipyard. brought a sandwich that had mayo on it. left it in a big metal box until lunch time in august. Ate the sandwich and by quitting time 4 hours later i could barely stand up. temp was near 100 and i had chills and felt i was freezing.

I remember laying on the couch at home hoping i would die soon to make it go away.

I got Montezuma's Revenge from a Subway sandwich, once. Was shitting undigested lettuce within five hours of eating it.

I got food poisoning back in college. At a hamburger at a seafood restaurant (bad decision). Didn't hit me until the next morning. Barely made it home from class...both ends, same time. Couldn't hold own food or water for nearly two days.
