Not this year. Skiing in Utah during Mardi Gras and I couldn't be happier.

Anyone else looking for a break this year?
My girlfriend has some family (Jewish) obligations but its usually just a couple of dinners or cocktail events, pretty tame.
I view Mardi Gras like Essence, good time to get out of town for a week.

My first year riding Thoth, so yeah, I'm kind of pumped.
Great, the more the merrier in the crowded arse ballroom
Thoth outgrew that room at least 10 years ago...

Every Ash Wednesday I tell myself I’m not doing it again

I have NEVER felt this way before. Anyone else looking for a break this year?
I was that way last year. I actually had to go out of town for Mardi Gras and I wasn't sad about it one bit. Since then, we moved away from New Orleans and I'm all for it again. We rented an AirBNB Uptown and I'm looking forward to it.

Maybe it's the fact it's so early
It's this. It's early and it's cold.

I'm seriously contemplating going to some parades this weekend, middle of next week, and next Friday loading the family into the car and going somewhere out of town for a few days.
We live six blocks off the route and I've never left town for Mardi Gras before, but that's our plan this year. Wife is pregnant so we're taking our near 3 year old to Disney before her brother or sister is born. Between this weekend and leaving Muses Thursday we'll watch enough parades.

I'll just sit at home and watch the live cam feed to see if I can spot some TITTAYS!

Going to Nola for Mardi Gras was a staple between the ages of 17-23ish....went a handful of times after. Now that I'm upper 30s, I make sure to get out of town(usually snowboarding) or just stay home. Don't want to fight the crowd. Heading to Park City this year.

I'm having a rough time focusing at work because I am too excited to head to Nola for Mardi Gras.

Less so this year.
It's early following a long Christmas break and time off for bad weather days.
