I expected it to be pretty bad and it was.

ETA: My base rate alone this month was higher than my entire bill in October and November.

ETA2: I've lived on my own for 6 months now (Ha! take that stereotypes that millenials live with their parents after college) so this is my first winter electric bill I've paid. Even in Louisiana is it normal to be more expensive to heat a house rather than cool it with A/C in the summer? Maybe I just wasn't as on top of making sure the thermostat was set to a smart level every day but this was easily my most expensive bill even compared to July and August when it was very hot.

Mine must be more prompt than yours.

I think she's trying to tell you it's time for a new shtick.

I budgeted double what I typically do for my gas bill. I won't be surprised if it's more than that.

Haven't received mine yet, but last month it was actually cheaper than usual. My utility bill (water, electricity and gas) was $133, which is in the lowest range during the year. In July & August, there have been times it has been almost $300, but I am expecting my gas to be a little bit higher this month.

Every time I think I have it bad I remember what a friend of mine who works in the accounting department at Nucor here in Tuscaloosa said the plants bill was.

Usually around 2.5 million dollars. A month.
