quote:WHere at on your leg is the problem? I had a mild case of it, and it seemed like the RSL was orginiating from the back side of my knee cap. So I would put a thick coating of icy hot (max strength) on the spot and go to bed, and if I awoke during the night, I would apply some more and go back to bed. It helped mask that feeling long enough for me to go back to sleep.
Anybody else deal with restless leg syndrome?
Also, do you take any opiates or other pills? Seems like RLS is a side effect from these, among other things. Just wondering if you got some kind of physical addiction going on and you don't know about it.

I get this at night a good bit. I’ve noticed if I eat sugar a couple hours before sleep and it will come on. Some days are better than others. If I cut my sugar out, I usually don’t have it at night.

I never dealt with until I started taking ambien. It's strange because supposedly, ambien is prescribed to help against RLS. I found that if I don't go to bed immediately after taking the ambien, about 30 mins later I will start to feel RLS symptoms.
If I feel like I'm not falling asleep fast enough, or if I start to feel the RLS symptoms, I take a muscle relaxer and it works great.

Just jerk off before bed and you do not have that problem.

I do. Wife says I shake like a mf at night, and my leg is shaking right now.
CBD oil tincture helps me, might help you.
THC also does the trick. Booze, not really.
Xanax scares me, but I know my leg stops when I'm on it.
Post coitus is a non shaker too.
Or you know, whatever your doctor tells you to take, I'm no doc.
Also, Adderall makes me stop the shaking too. I'm a walking pharmacy most days.

Hyland's Restful Legs or Leg Cramps is your guaranteed remedy. Available over the counter.

I get it 2-3 nights a week. I find that if I do leg stretches for about 10-15 minutes before bed, it knocks it out and I sleep with no issues.

Hate to hear that buddy. Grandfather suffered with that for years. I can’t remember for the life of me. He had found some Chinese Herb one time that had helped for a while.

I've had it for 25 years (It's called Willis Ekbohm disease now) and it impacts my entire body. I've tried every Parkinsons med known to man (Requip, Mirapex, Carbidoba/Levadoba, and a host of others). No natural or herbal supplements helps. The only 2 drugs I've ever found to work are Hydrocodone/Oxycodone (any opiate) and Clonazapem which surpresses the central nervous system but you have to be careful. You must take only what you are prescribed because death is real. You won't get a prescription for hydrocodone because of the war on opiates but good luck on your journey. Instead of half of an oxycodone (which put me to sleep every night) I now take 7 different medications to stop it and try to get 6 to 8 hours of sleep. Don't eat chocolate, don't drink any booze and avoid caffeine. These are horrible for RLS. Before I started Clonazapem a good nights sleep for me was 4 hours. I would run in the middle of the night. I would ball up and rock for 5 hours. My longest stretch of time with 0 sleep was 5 days. 5 days with no sleep puts you into delusion. It's a condition that has to do with the amount of serotonin your body produces. Our bodies don't produce enough and it wires our minds for days at a time and is 1000 times worse at night. Masturbation releases a ton of serotonin and helps dramatically. Try to have sex on bad nights or go rub one out. Like I said, good luck, it's a bitch.

Stretch legs
This... I'll get out of bed 3-4 times and do a leg stretch
"routine" for about 5-10 min. Typically after 2-4 times of doing that, I'm able to fall asleep.
Sucks bad and is annoying as frick

I get it every now and then. It does suck.
Yoga of all things helped it tremendously. As did losing some weight.

Are you taking any antihistamines like Benadryl?

These types of medications really throw it into overdrive much like alcohol will. Avoid antihistamines at all costs. Eventually you figure out what drugs you can take and which you can't take.

Seems like when I take benedryl it is worse. (allergy med)
