I'm a member of Menses. I've been told it's basically the same thing.

As much as possible to let everyone know how smart they are.

Kinda like joining a "Young Professionals" club.

Yes. Never helped me much, other than allowing me to roll with the punches that life dishes out over the years. Made it easier to get back up and make the kinds of decisions that would affect the rest of my life. More options were open to me because school was so easy for any of them.

My first observation:
For an alleged genius, the last sentence of your post is poorly constructed.
Secondly:
You may want to investigate the Duning-Kruger Effect.

I qualify but haven't joined. Mensa is top 2%. I also qualify for the Top One Percent Society. If I had my old ACT score handy, I'd join just to rub it in your faces. Pre-1989 ACT tests qualify (not the thing that passes for an ACT test for you millennials).

Asnem is Mensa backwards. It's a new club for the bottom 2%.

I am a Charter Member.

I think it is top 2% actually, which means if you qualify you are in the top 6 million people in the country!

There are more restrictive clubs. Try this one:

Prometheus

That is one out of 30,000 or 1 out of every 600 Mensa members.

I looked at their website and didn't see any benefit to joining.

Luckily intelligence tests measure far more than a single, narrow ability of Crystallized Intelligence (Gc).

I was a member for about 5 years until I realized all MENSA really wanted was my annual dues. I let the membership lapse.

I wasn't laughing about the typo. You spelled it correctly right after that. I was laughing because I've read your posts

Yeah the only Qual is 98 percentile on standardized tests, probably quite a few on this board qualify.

Eta: I've never heard a good reason to join.
