I'll take stroke or heart attack over infection in the skin of the perineum any day.

that smokes weed all day and contributes nothing to society

I've done my contribution to society. Now I don't give a shite and if I don't want to contribute a fricking thing to anyone else, frick it.

I don't have an employer, I don't cash a paycheck and I answer to no one.

If I want to do absolutely nothing else but sit on my front porch and smoke then so be it. I don't owe society a fricking thing.

Some days I'm productive and weld up a metal frame for a shed. Some days I fish all day. Some days I don't do a fricking thing. And I don't care what you or anyone else thinks about it.

I wouldn't trade my life or situation with anyone else's and am glad to live a "pathetic" lifestyle where I don't need a damn thing and can do whatever the frick I want whenever I feel like it.

I'm going to light up a j right now just for you. Now get back to work.

You guys need to listen to 'My Baby Lives Me When I'm Stoned" by the great Oklahoma baw Jason Boland.

I'm lucky enough that my wife doesn't mind if I smoke all day or none at all. And yes, she does live it when I'm stoned.

As for edibles, I would imagine the risk is with the THC itself. It can increase pulse and blood pressure. Probably not a big deal for a person who is of healthy weight, but might be a problem for an out of shape baw.

I’d 110% agree with this. I live pretty clean, exercise all meds hit me pretty hard and even a 5mg edible does as well. I feel good but I can definitely feel palpitations and my heart thumping when I take a gummy. There’s definitely a change in BP compared to the norm.

I'm not a conspiracy guy, but the timing of this is rather interesting. The FDA and Congress has already urged rescheduling cannabis from Schedule III to Schedule I. The decision has made its way to the DEA, who has final say on rescheduling. The FDA's summary on the DEA referral left little wiggle room for the DEA to issue a denial. The DEA is expected to announce their decision by this fall.

....but here comes this study, painting MJ to be highly dangerous. Pretty convenient for a federal agency who receives a shite ton of funding for mj enforcement.

Ive used daily since I started chemo a few years ago.

Detachment is the worst part, but you can have other physical issues.

Detachment is soul breaking. Some people love it, I loathe it.

Well..... I'm increasing the shite out of my risk since I discovered Gummies. If I gotta go.... I gotta go.

But I doubt the validity of this study.

They accounted for other factors for heart disease

do you believe that people that eat gummies daily have a higher risk for heart disease and stroke? Not smokers. People that eat gummies.

I dont do either. I am just doubting this study. I also believe that weed shouldn't be totally legalized. I think that it will hurt kids and be a nothing-burger for adults.

There’s a definite connection to marijuana usage and heart attack. That’s long been established

has it? is that from smoking it? is it better or worse for you than alcohol? Again, I am not for total legalization and do not smoke or eat

I don’t know if it’s better or worse than alcohol. Doesn't really matter imo.
I know for certain that heart attack risk increases within the first 30 minutes of usage as heart rate generally increases considerably.
I also know that there is a lot unknown about its health factors.

It’s a substance used to alter conscience which is generally not a positive.

If we are going to ban drugs, we need to ban all of them. Alcohol, weed....

Also we need to ban fast food and sugary/fatty/salty snacks as well as anything fried.

Fat is actually good for you, for what it’s worth.

I think we should consider the significance first. If something is bad for us, then how bad is it, and what is the cost to society. The engineered cooking oils, like peanut oil, are really bad for us. If your going to start anywhere, I would start there, and clean up our food supply.
