Wikipedia and a couple of other articles. And yeah, the father was apparently a real piece of shite. The whole thing is pretty unsettling.
ETA: The account from the guy doing repairs around the farm who claimed the dog was inside the house when he arrived, then noticed the dog chained up outside later gave me chills.

True.... if you had a few acres of land and the right chemicals you could dissolve a body. Alligator and pig farms aren't a bad way to rid of a body but (especially with the pigs) you would have to do certain prep work.

The 2001 anthrax attacks. The FBI fricked that one up over and over.
Paid a guy who wasn't the perp $6 million after publicly accusing him. At one point they found a turtle trap when they drained a lake and believed it could be his secret underwater lab. No shite that actually happened.
Then they hounded the guy who may have committed the crime to hard so he killed himself, he was very unstable to begin with, so no chance of him confessing. And they didn't test a contaminant in the letters that could have probably proved who did it, if it was a govt affiliated bioweapons researcher.
Thanks Robert Mueller.

I read a book a while back called, "The Man From the Train" about a string of axe murders in the late 1800's to early 1900's, mainly in the Southeast, but, really, all across the country.
The authors present a theory at the end of the book about who might be responsible for the killings at Hinterkaifeck. Interesting read and definitely creepy.

An old classic one is the Bloody Benders in Kansas. Newspapers all across the country reported on the chase and trials of some suspects, but the case was never solved.

Most recent is the disappearance of Maura Murray because it happened near where I grew up.

The COLD podcast had me wondering if we will ever find the remains of Susan Powell.
Obviously the husband killed her...but we will never know how and why and where her body is.
Great podcast though. The father of the husband is creepy as hell in his obsession with his son’s wife (like he kept underwear and used tampons from Susan).

There was a case while I was at LSU where a nice looking lady was running on/near Perkins during the day over by The medical facility (Pinnacle or Pendleton?) and boom - she just vanished.
Used to be the Jaren Lockhart case but that has since been solved

Had an ex who's good friend went missing on the east coast back in the early 1990s. To make a long story short, she is eventually found when police detect and uncover her body in the back of a pickup truck, which led to a police chase and the arrest of the serial killer Joel Rifkin.
EAR/ONS was a very interesting case before being solved earlier this year (or maybe last year).

A.J.Breaux. Houma 1991. Vanished in Houma. His car was found but he has never been. He was a friend of mine and a good man. He was the best clothes salesman. I could call him and tell him the number of shirts, pants, shoes, etc. and it would be all pulled and totaled when I came in. He knew my sizes and all I had to do was sign the ticket.

I always came away thinking that both Jay and Adnan did it. I think Jay just got away with it.

I find missing people cases intriguing even today in the world we live in with cameras everywhere and cell phones tracking our constant movements.

One that has always bothered me is the disappearance of Leigh Occhi.
She was 13 and vanished from her Tupelo, Mississippi home during Hurricane Andrew in 1992. She has never been found.
2 weeks later someone mailed her eyeglasses to her home in an envelope, addressed to her ex-stepfather.

Zodiac Killer
JonBenét Ramsey - I'm torn between her brother doing it and the parents covering it up or that the parent's had her involved in the some weird child sex trafficking type thing.

My wife testified in a murder trial where an 18 year old girl was accused of stabbing her mother over 50 times, she had seen the girl out the night it happened. Girl was convicted but she ended up getting out after several years on an Alford plea because of prosecutor misconduct. My wife gets contacted by authors and tv producers a good bit about it but always declines, and 60 Minutes (maybe Dateline or similar show) did a piece on it a few years ago. Most of the evidence was pretty circumstantial, but it's pretty obvious she did it
