Any thoughts on the Dodge Ram 1500 ?

Tomorrow I'm going to look at a low mileage Dodge Ram 1500 Tradesman with the 5.7 Hemi engine...any of y'all have one and if so, can you let me know your opinion of the truck.

Thanks !

OP I've owned 3 Dodge trucks. 2 Rams and a Dakota. None had any major problems.

FWIW - I rarely keep mine more than 7-8 years though. I put 150k on the Dakota commuting from Nola to LSU 3 days per week. The other 2 I traded in before 100k.

Growing on me. I'm seeing more and more and it's not a bad stance at all.

We have a good number of them in our fleet at work and by all account, they are fine vehicles. The styling is nice and the seem to be about as well made as Chevy and Ford. They drive well and have an assload of power. Can’t speak to the longevity, as we trade them out when they are several years old.

I was a guy that made fun of Dodges all the time.
I bought an Ecodiesel in February and love it. Got the Laramie package and the inside is sweet, and I love my ram boxes.

What does Fiat know about building pickup trucks?

Also, Dodge doesn't manufacture pickups anymore. Ram is it's own brand separate from Dodge.

What year?
I've got a 2014 Lonestar edition with 48k miles. It was wrecked with around 12k miles causing just over 30k in damage thanks to an illegal immigrant turning across the lane I was in without looking. State Farm refused to total the truck and fixed it.

That said, it still drives great and I've not had a single issue out of it. It's the smoothest riding truck I've ever owned. Lots of features in the truck and everything works well. The interior quality isn't on par with my previous couple of vehicles. Buttons develop more play than I'd expect. They aren't sloppy and feel like they are falling apart, but you can feel a little wear in the action on them. My BMW and Toyota Tundra both had over 100k miles when I got rid of them and the interior was a tight as I recall it being when they were new.
Also the paint scratches far easier than anything I've ever owned. It's not the same quality paint as the Tundra and it's not even close to the BMW. This is also my first ever black vehicle and it will show more than other colors. I like it, but I'll be going back to white on my next truck.

All in all, it's a good truck and the drivetrain is rock solid. The 5.7 doesn't pull as well as my Tundra did either, but that truck was a beast.

My cousin has one, it’s super-nice, and i think the newer ones, say in the last 5 -10 years are far more reliable than the ones from the 80s and 90s that had such bad reputations for reliability.
