I used to he lac about wearing mine all the time until my daily driver was a car that beeped and heeped until you put your belt on.

Now my daily driver doesn't beep and its weird as hell not wearing it on the rare occasion when I forget. Plus I don't want to get pulled over and have my dog shot because I'm not wearing my seat belt.

Only time I wear mine is when I see a cop. It aggravates my ADD

I've been in a few 35-50mph wrecks before and never really got hurt other than a broken nose and some cuts. Not too worried about it

Always wear mine, was in a bad wreck once where I t-boned someone who pulled out in front of me while I was travelling at 65 mph. The belt kept me from going through the windshield, but that sob bruised my liver and cracked a rib on my upper left chest. Guess that's better than the alternative.

For the ones that don't wear one....do you make sure your children are properly restrained in the vehicle?

If so...how come you will take those precautions for your child....but not yourself?

When I drive, I only wear it around my waist. The shoulder belt goes around my back. I do have a go pass for this due to having a CRT-D in my left upper chest that sticks out an easy 1/2" that is the size of a pack of smokes. It is just under the skin. If I were to get in a wreck and the belt would most likely break the wires. If that happen, there is a good chance my heart would stop. I'm paced 100% of the time.

And yes, I have been stopped a few times for checks. I just show the cops my pacemaker and they freak out. Besides, I have a tag for it.

I've worked many wrecks where they probably could have survived if they wore seatbelt. I can only think of one, drunk guy, that survived possibly due to not wearing one. 90% of fatalities I work are people not wearing them.

Every situation is different.

In high school I never wore my seat belt. I flipped a car where the car landed upside down in a crawfish pond. If I would've been wearing my seat belt, I would be dead. Yea csb

Now I drive mostly in the city or on the interstate where seat belts are proven to save lives.

Bottom line is there is no way of knowing when getting thrown from a vehicle is the better outcome of a wreck. Odds are in your favor if you wear the seat belt.

Same. It's just second nature for me to immediately put my seat belt on once I get in the car.

I don't know why, but I just assumed Jim Morrison wouldn't wear one

I don't unless I'm with my wife or kids. They nag me until I put it on.

And FYI, I've had 3 seatbelt tickets. 2 in La and 1 in Tx.

My parents ALWAYS made me wear a seat belt as a kid and I honestly don't think I've ever gone without - I'm grateful they did because I've been in a couple of wrecks where I'd probably be dead had I not been wearing it.

I always wear one. Sometimes, I even sit in my truck in the garage and just put one on to feel safe.

Not sure your seat belt would work at all. If the part behind your back were secured to the seat it might. Would be great if you could get a belt that goes right to left but not sure how the pendulum would work worth this.
