Grandfather died and while going through the house we found grandma dead in the closet. At least we only had to clean the house once.

That was probably pretty valuable. Older whiskey was aged in old growth barrels or some shite so it tasted different

Around 30 years ago my uncle (dad’s brother) shot and killed my grandmother then later that night committed suicide. At the dual wake/funeral a guy who was a business customer of my dad (sort of a friend due to being a long time customer) showed up and asked my dad if they found any “erotica” that he’d want to sell in my uncle’s apartment since he knew he was single - the guy that asked was in his 50s-60s and said he “collects erotica”. He prefaced it with “I know this is a bad time to ask” or some bullshite like that, but I guess he wanted to make sure he was first in line if the opportunity existed.
That has to be the strangest thing I’ve ever seen at a wake or funeral. Hard to imagine anything less appropriate.

For those who found cash scattered around a house, that's not uncommon. You don't want to keep all of it one place in case you're robbed, so make caches of cash. Similar deal with a safe deposit box, but you're comfortable keeping a lot there.
Lots of people who came up through the Great Depression learned to keep cash, and the advice has been passed down from there. That's one source.

Had several guns hidden in the wall in the closets. A case of unopened Kentucky bourbon from the early 70’s, and some old dolls.

At the funeral of a girl I grew up with a friend, while a small group was talking in the funeral home, standing in front of her open casket started talking about how he fricked her behind Broadmoor High School, and a very graphic description I might say while not realizing two of the people standing with us were her husband and son.
He was politely asked to leave.
Oh and I forgot-he was also talking about her big tits and she had a double mastectomy and died from breast cancer.

A friend of mine told me when his grandfather passed away they found a huge stash of condumns in his garage. Apparently he was nailing the old black lady next door for years.

my grandmother had over $15k in cash through out all her clothes. Ever roll of socks had money. All he pockets had money. Had cash in shoes, books and everywhere you would think to hide it. Hid it within the drawers, vases and everywhere in between. It was like an easter egg hunt.

Cousin In-law ,aged 50, about 25 years ago "fell down the stairs" and died. Photography was his hobby.
Wife and other family members found boxes upon boxes of hard core gay porn photographs , personal amateur , some dressed as clergy and other costumes, looked youthful.
Didn't categorize them, just destroyed them. Several weeks later one of his friends called and inquired about the collection. He was shocked we destroyed it. Said it was worth a lot of money, but how is a straight 22 old male supposed to know how to fence that product, considering it may be pushing the limit of CP.
Anyway, with the recent expose of the Archdiocese locally, and he actually lived in New York and Boston, he was a musician with the Church, and the time frame of 60s 70s to mid 80s, there is no telling who was in that box.

I had an uncle who always seemed like a fairly reasonable and healthy dude. After he passed, we cleaned his house and the only food we found was like around 7 cases of pork and beans.
