Any of you baws operating Bit Coin mining sytems?

Me and a buddy are funding the building of a rig, including monthly electrical costs...We have 2 college kids that are basically "Snowden" types that have specked out a system in the 11-12k range. Based on current projections, we look to turn a profit in a little over 2 months.
My ultimate question...Has anyone else been in this type of scenario and if you had how did you handle payment for services rendered for their intellectual property?
These kids work for us in another venture we have...Obviously don't want to screw them because my goal is to set up a farm of these with them handling the monitoring...I want to pay them for their worth, but obviously we are the money in this situation.
Obviously I'm just vetting all avenues if I'm coming for advice on the OT board...you never know though
