I mine eth on my own, not sure how you would pay someone maybe just a flat fee to set it up.

That was the thought for future systems...we have space for 24 assuming we can get in on each shipping wave. This is basically a POC

The thing I would be most curious about is how many miners are going to either get in the first time or restart as a result of the surge in BTC price.

One of the big issues, which I am sure you know, is the hardware is not one and done. You have to keep upgrading your hash rate to stay profitable. One good thing is there is not another block halving until 2020.

What is your planned hash rate?

You better have a asic processor and not try to do this with a gaming machine. Also, at this stage of the game, you should research pool mining.

Good luck with that. That’ll get you about a coin every 5 or so months.

Another thing is the heat. Mine are in the house and I have to keep the room pretty cool. Summer time is brutal, just installed a new central AC that is more efficient

That's not true.

You can get lucky and make a few by finding the right combinations.

IF they were running starting today @80TH/s I would guess more like 4 months for a coin.

I did it years ago when no one had ever heard of Bitcoin. Turned out well and I've sat on my little pile for years. Will continue to sit on them.

Good luck with your rig...when I stopped mining it had become pretty tough to do with basic to pretty good gaming system level PCs and had moved on to dedicated miners.

Again...this is a proof of concept for us and taking advantage of pool mining, we will see faster returns...not the full reward as you seem to know. Evals will be made along the way

I've got another guy that has a water-cooled farm and will be consulting with him

It is intense. Good luck. I just got through studying blockchains in my latest MBA course. Been thinking about jumping in.

The good thing about our setup is the guys setting this up for us our broke college kids with technical intellect running out of their ears...They can hack anything and are far and away surpassing our expectations for out current setup and farm plan...They would love nothing more than to sit at home...this is what one of the guys told me today...

"we plan on running 2 separate 3 machine batches on 2 pools and watch pool efficiencies constantly and pool hop"

seriously these kids have to have 150 IQ's
