These remarks are ignorant and disturbing and in no way reflect the values of The University of Alabama. This unfortunate behavior has been reported to the Office of Student Conduct as it does not align with the community expectations of students at the Capstone.

THE UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA
CODE OF STUDENT CONDUCT

III. ARTICLE III: PROSCRIBED CONDUCT
Any student found to have committed one or more of the following acts of misconduct is subject to the
disciplinary sanctions outlined in Article V
:

B. Offenses against Persons

(4) Harassment/Threatening Behavior/Bullying
a. Harassment that is defined as not being of a sexual nature includes:
1. Conduct (physical, verbal, graphic, written, or electronic) that is (1) unwelcome; (2)
discriminatory on the basis of genetic information, race, color, religion, national origin,
age, disability or protected veteran status; (3) directed at an individual; and (4) so severe,
pervasive or objectively offensive that a reasonable person with the same characteristics
of the alleged victim would be adversely affected to a degree that interferes with their
ability to participate in or to realize the intended benefits of an institutional activity,
opportunity, or resource.

c. Bullying and cyberbullying means repeated and/or severe behavior(s) that a reasonable
person would view as designed to intimidate or intentionally harm or control another person
or group and may involve: teasing, social exclusion, threat, intimidation, stalking, physical
violence, theft, sexual, religious or racial harassment, public humiliation, or destruction of
property.

quote:

D. Sanctions
(1) When it has been determined that a student is responsible for violating any provision of this
Code, one or more sanctions may be imposed. The following is a non-exhaustive list of
potential sanctions that may be utilized individually or in combination:

k. University Suspension - Separation of the student from the University for a definite or
indefinite period of time. When a student is eligible to return, conditions for readmission
may be specified.

l. University Expulsion - Separation of the student from the University permanently. A student
permanently expelled is prohibited from reapplying to the University in the future or from
earning a degree from any of its colleges or schools. If a disciplinary action results in a
determination that expulsion is the appropriate sanction, then the Vice President for Student
Life shall review the sanction and shall make the final decision to expel after consultation
with the President of the University. Because a decision to expel a student is made after
consultation with the President, a student has no right to request a review of the
sanction of expulsion.

Basic Yankee bitches. I find it hilarious that saying a verboten word is the worst crime known to America now. Kill your unborn babies in the womb and you get applauded for it but if you say a naughty word you’re lynched by the e-mob. Society is so far out of whack.

I was reading through the thread looking for something like this. It's true, and it's sad. Half the population finds a racist word to be one of the the worst things in the world today.

Forget actual slavery as it still exists and all the other things you mentioned. The 'N-word' is just morally reprehensible.

The irony here is that we've created a word that 70+% of the population cannot use in every day conversation. Yet, I would challenge you to watch a contemporary movie or listen to contemporary music and not hear it used repeatedly. I find it amazing that we've done this to ourselves.

Studies on racism show that it is actually not a north vs south phenomenon but the disparity is actually east vs west.

Western states can be racist towards Native Americans. My brother's FIL from Montana could talk some crap about those "Sorry burdens to the government" (his words, not mine). Same goes for Alaska with the Native folks up there. Have heard folks up there say they "Live off of the government" too. I think Westerners are really jealous cause those native baws can hunt and fish when the want. Lots of crazy guys trying to live off the grid in the poorer Western states.

Texas was kind of racist against Mexicans when I moved out there in the 80's.

There's a minority being held down everywhere the man pitches his tent.
