Nope.
Dropped him in 2008 when he went into the tank for Obama, all while saying forty times per hour that "I'm obJECKTive, I have hard right friends and friends on the left, I'm fair and obJECKTive." And, at the same time, he was advocating a daily admission into the city of New Orleans for anyone coming into the city for any reason.

This town took a huge loss when David Tyree died, now we get a washed out Scoot, or Kaare, or bad-to-mediocre sports radio. It is a sin and a shame that a city with TWO major league sports teams only gets Kaare, Krisitian Garic and Bobby Hebert. Surely we have better, somewhere? It is simply backward that Baton Rouge has better sports radio, even though with LSU, Baton Rouge deserves good sports radio, as well. I prefer Matt Moscona to anything WWL, right now, unless there is real news coming out of Saints' camp.

This isn't nowhere. Nowhere is the only place an insufferable prick like Karre Johnson could have a fan.

Can't listen to him. It's 50 mins of plugging sponsors and 10 mins of show. He acts like he is better than all the callers, he sits on the fence on issues, and has a bad case of TDS.

His mom was from Sweden. He has a sister named Siobahn, pronounced Shivawn and a brother named Bjorn. I've known Kaare since I was about 14. He is a really nice guy.

So as bad as people hate on Scone man, sounds like he is doing light years better than Johnson.

I'm pretty sure his mom is from Lebanon, and the reason he and his brother have those Swedish names is they were named after two soldiers his dad Phil Johnson met in WW II. Those Swedes were captured by and escaped the Germans something like 3 times or so.

At least that's the story he told on the air one time. And he always talks about how his mom is from Lebanon and that's why he knows good Lebanese food when he does his ad schtick for Lebanon Cafe.

I would listen to him on WWL at night.
Didn't he leave after the storm?

We used to run in the same crowd back in high school.
He was a pretty cool dude back then, but haven't been in touch since those days. I remember we used to always say, "Good evening" referencing his dad's sign off.

Never liked him. Living off of his old man's career. He's not awful, but...I just can't stand to listen to him. I can't stand him, Kristian Garic, Tommy Tucker...OMG, do I hate Tommy Tucker.

That guy is the biggest tool in radio; even bigger than Scoot! If you think he is talented I feel sorry for you.

Kaare might be the voice of on-air radio commercials, but that's it. I don't know why you listen, he doesn't have any time to actually discuss anything between his pitches for Joesph A Bank, Young's Dry Cleaning, Mandina's, and Trey Yuen.

And in the rare instance he does have a few seconds free between commercial spots, he just blabs on about some far-left political issue.

I don't get 1280. They bill themselves as Sports radio, yet Kaare rarely talks sports and the Katie's lunch hour show with Eric Asher, Eric doesn't know jack about sports. D-Squared is a guy who also hosts a show about comic books. Chris Gordy is the "least sucks" by default.

There was a period of time where the best NOLA sports host was T-Bob Hebert. Let that sink in.

Maybe the local stations are just cheap. Look at WWL. Bobby was probably a good choice for the Point After, but having him on daily radio is awful. Garic was promoted from a radio engineer, a job he got after he left the Marines. Seth Dunlap was an ad guy. The guy that does the high school football show in the fall, owns a car dealership and I think instead of getting paid, they just get free commercials.

I am biased, but Holder would easily be best sports talk in NOLA if they gave him free reign to talk about whatever he wanted
