re: Any good murder mysteries with truly bizarre aspects that you think you’ve figured out?

The Jennings Eight murders were committed by a cop.
That's why they've never been solved. The PD won't put much effort towards solving them.
All victims had reputations and lifestyles that put them in constant contact with the police, so that takes away the random factor. They all knew and were killed by the same man, who knew them through interactions he had with them as a cop.
And before anybody tries to make the claim that the police wouldn't cover this sort of thing up for their buddy, ask yourself if you really think that the Livingston Sheriff's Department didn't know about their boy raping kids and women. They only turned on him when they realised they couldn't hide it anymore.

Whatever happened to the Delphi, Indiana double murder of the two young girls and the image of the guy walking on the abandoned railroad tracks?

Uvalde has quieted the reflexive ‘back the blue’ types so I think you’re good.

I’m pretty sure the alibi of being in California was his wife

Fair enough. But what would be the motive?
And why risk it in a clearly lit church hallway. Even if he had never been in the church before, he surely should have suspected that there would be surveillance cameras around. Even if he was covered head to toe, his weight and height could be deduced from the video.
How would he have know the outside cameras were disabled? (The suspect got lucky on that one.) His getaway car could have been spotted otherwise, preventing him from getting away with it if the make and model and license plate could be detected from the camera
Edit: Google indicates the police confirmed the FIL’s California alibi through social media pictures and through third-party confirmations.

Cops are pretty sure they know who did it. Tons of info released in May/June. A true crime podcast actually helped.
What’s the next step in the investigation if they know who did it? The Down the Hill podcast was good!

Gum Shoe Stories
This blogger dispels the FIL theory, with the aforementioned corroboration of the California alibi.
But he also correct my timeline. The first “early bird” students to arrive, arrived at 4:30. And more so, they were known to arrive that early. And the scheduled class start time was 5:00 am. Missy walks in at 4:18 and is murdered at 4:20.
For a “hit”, this hit man is cutting it extremely close.

Yeah, this isn’t right. The cops are pretty sure he’s still alive. And the “new” information that just came out was from a warrant in 2017 that was just obtained and posted by the podcasters. And even they don’t really think it was him. Cops are much more interested in the Klines, like Roger said.

Murdaugh in South Carolina gets weirder and weirder.

Which part of the alibi that he was in California at the time doesn’t add up for you, considering it’s backed up with third-party accounts, electronic records, and social media posts?

I’ve always found this case perplexing. I think it could have been a woman in the suit. Watch the walk.

I think so too. Even his son thinks he's a monster, and his son is fricked up.

We got a picture of this guy? I only ever see the fat son. Who would have been, what, 20 at the time? Doesn’t strike me as someone capable of controlling a situation like that now, much less at 20.

It wasn’t the parents.

It's getting clear who was involved in the murders. Just a matter of time before Alex gets charged.
What about the West Memphis 3 story. I think Damien and the other 2 actually did kill the 3 boys.
