Any experience getting out of jury duty in EBR?

I've never had jury duty, but received a letter yesterday instructing me to report on Monday, 3/28, in two weeks. Let me say I'm not opposed to jury duty but this simply won't work. There is an email you can send but it states it does not grant exceptions for anything but "extreme hardship." I'd prefer to not show up and fake my way out by saying I'm a nazi or something but it may have to happen.
Anyone have experiences getting it postponed?
FWIW, this is spring break for kids. We have plans to drive about 20 hours, stay with relatives as I have a job interview I've been trying to land for about a year. It's a road trip so I don't have a paper trail of non refundable receipts and that concerns me. I imagine that does not qualify as an "extreme hardship" so I'm screwed or I"m going to have to ask a potential new employer for some documentation which is also embarrassing. I don't want to commit perjury or get a bench warrant for skipping.
Anecdotally, I had a friend in North Carolina a few years back who was called for jury duty a few weeks after he was laid off. He told them he was looking for a job, interviewing, etc., which he was. Still got picked and and had it for a couple weeks which really screwed him.
Anyone have any experience in EBR having it postponed? What were the circumstances? Are they reasonable?

Ignore it...it wasn't registered mail. They will send you a new date. If they complain...say you never received it...they will then give you a new date.

Figure out the details of the case and answer questions in a way that makes one side or the other think you'd be biased against them. "My house was robbed one time." "My brother in law was a victim of medical malpractice." My wife works for an insurance company." Etc. You have to be subtle, though.
ETA. NVM, I see you're trying to avoid showing up at all. You could just try to brazen it out. It's usually easier to ask forgiveness than permission.

I tried this. It definitely didn't work. Still had to show up for 2 days.
If I was you I'd try to call and talk to them. If that doesn't work then just don't go. Take care of it when you get back. Probably have to pay a fine or something.

Write them a letter and fax it to the # they give you. They will make you come back sometime later in the year. I did this 2 years ago. I tore my ACL and had surgery scheduled 1 week before duty. They let me come back in September.
ETA they may not have given you a fax #. Call and get it.

Horrible advice, as their complaint will take the form of a bench warrant for your dumb arse.

I hope so. I'm sure they hear all kinds of stuff and probably have little sympathy for someone who works but is trying to improve their life.

I think the general rule is they will give you one time to push it back for almost anything and after that it would be up to the judge.

Take it a step further and show in a BLM shirt.

Just let them know well ahead of time that you will be out of town and ASK if you can reschedule for another time later in the year. They are pretty lenient for legitimate reasons.

Thanks. They have an email address. Glad to hear you get out but I hope my "excuse" is good enough. That's what I"m curious about, would I need to incapacitate myself or are scheduled plans enough? Certainly a torn ACL and surgery you are incapable of serving. Hope everything is better.

I can't give you 100%, but I think you are good to go.
The ACL was a good life lesson. No more pickup bball or acting like i'm 20 years old.

if you got plans, don't go
you'll just be put back into the pool for next time
they don't send people knockin on the door wonderin where you were etc.....too much manpower, too expensive
a while back mom got a notice but she had the stroke and couldn't go, she was bed ridden with right side paralysis....I didn't bother to call, and never hear a peep.
all I had to do, was tell her doctor to call etc and she'd of been pulled from the pool.

Dude, just say the most racist and sexist shite possible, deny the holocaust actually happened and/or the jews need to go back to auschwitz. Tell the judge that he's a dicksucking queer or a goddamn carpet muncher.
I dunno if this actually works but it's worth a shot.

While not in EBR, I got out by telling them I save my vacation for this particular time of year for the specific purpose of (whatever yours may be). And told them I would be happy to serve after that time frame.
Although mine was scheduled for opening day of hunting season may have helped but I did get excused and have not been sequestered since, that was October.
