Not in EBR, but I received jury summons on a date that a project that I was PM'ing was set to "go-live", I told them that I couldn't make that date due to work reasons, but that I could be available 2 months later. They didn't have an issue with that.

Just say you believe in jury nullification or that you'll vote your conscience rather than the law. Jesus told you to do so, and you only answer to him.

The real problem is that the most productive and intelligent people are the people least likely to be on a jury. Great for civil trials, horrible for criminal defendants as most criminal trials are either guilty pleasure or convictions.

I used a document indicating that I was schedule for pre-paid training on that day and was excused.
The next 2 times I was called, I proudly served my civic duty.
