Whenever I see some, I sort of just forget what’s on my mind and go “look a palm tree”.
Idk how y’all cold weather baws survive up there.

Palm trees and sand- yes. Shitty palm trees in someone’s grass yard in the middle of a neighborhood - no.

I use them as a scratching post for my back and get a happy mood from it. Is that what you mean?

Love the sound of wind rustling the palm fronds.

Got 3 in the front yard and many more on the beach, 6 miles away. Their ability to withstand Irma and Ian was amazing.

Pine trees do it for me - of which I see plenty in Atlanta.

Something calming about the way they look and smell.

Careful then: You could go into a coma if you drive I-59 from Picayune to Meridian.

I had about 10 Sabal Palms that I inherited as landscaping around a huge pool.

I hated the annual dead frond trimming up 25’ off the ground they required.

Other than that, they weren’t bad to live with.

I like Live Oaks more better.

I agree the annual trimming of the dead fronds is not fun (nor cheap). Palm trees are also excellent lightning rods. Ask me how I know.

Interesting. A couple months ago I was lifting at the gym and between sets I gazed out the window and became fixated on one of the palm trees. Then the top of the tree just lopped off like the pic below. What did meditative palm tree bro mean by this?
