I've had the same thought, but I'm pretty sure it's just getting old.

If I drink a couple of hard liquor drinks, 2-3 glasses of wine, or 6 pack of beer, I will feel like total shite the next morning and well into the afternoon. It also ruins my run or workout the next day.

Welcome to mid-life, baw. Getting old sucks.

I would just check with your doctor, as you may be pre-diabetic or something like that. I would take this opportunity to just quit drinking…life seems to be a whole lot simpler when you don’t drink.

I have been having an alcohol problem for the last couple of years as well. About 8 hours after I have one drink my heart will start racing and I will begin sweating. I have had to give up drinking completely.

I'll get hives when drinking sugary alcoholic beverages, like daiquiris and sometimes wine.

When I stick to beer and spirits I do fine.

My hangover is dog shite the next day if I drink red wine. Beer hangover is a little less worse. And the sprits hangover is the easiest to get over.

And I know why.

This happens to me now after drinking when I go to bed...
Age group 40-45

Wake up in the middle of the night hot and heart racing like I ran a mile.

I’m not allergic but after a night of drinking 1-6 beers, the next day my stomach would kill me.

Went to the emergency room and it turns out I have liver cirrhosis and borderline need a transplant.

If alcohol is making you feel like crap as you’re drinking it, or for hours and days afterwards…I’d say it’s just not worth drinking.

I’m allergic to gin. It’s the only alcohol that makes my face red and itchy.

Your body is telling you that you are becoming an alcoholic. Listen.

I can do 1-2 drinks pretty easily. 3 drinks is a gamble. 4+ drinks is a guaranteed splitting headache with crippling anxiety the next day no matter the precautions taken. I could drink a lot up until my late 20s. Now that I'm in the back half of my 30s, it's just not worth it to drink more than a couple.

I dated a girl in high school who couldn't drink alcohol. If she did it would cause her excruciating pain in her gallbladder or pancreas or some other innard that I can't remember.

Spiced rum makes me break out in hives and causes breathing trouble from throat swelling.

In college, I swore I could drink bleach and would be ok. My body was great at recovering from a night of drinking. Now, I drink just a few beers, don’t get anything more than a little buzz that wears off in like an hour, but feel like shite later that night, and the next morning. I think my stomach just can’t handle alcohol anymore. I think it just happens to some people, where they can’t really drink anymore.

I don't think that's true. I drink 1-2 days a week, usually Friday or Saturday. It's tough for me to go back to go back these days, so i'll pick one or the other, and I'll have an occasional beer or whiskey night cap some nights, but pretty much a standard drinker. I have multiple friends who drink 4-5 days a week and never seem to have issues
