So the Maverick is classified as a compact truck, interesting as it looks like a mid sized at first glance

Because people recognize that it’s a major volume player in the truck game

A truck that sells for $20k should not be compared to a truck that sales for $35k.

Compare the maverick to the Ridgeline and Hyundai truck

Looks like people are becoming frugal. Starts at 24K with good gas mileage.

You aren't getting a Ridgeline under 30K new

It's just not going to happen

And would probably be an appropriate truck for over half of people that drive F250s

Ford vehicle designers are so unimaginative and lazy that they have to steal the name of one of their cars from the ‘70s and give it to a new line of trucks?

When I bought my ranger I was originally planning on getting a Maverick. It would have taken 6 months to get one, though.

Yep, laugh all you want but a Ford Maverick was once a very popular vehicle

And like you posted, it was not a truck.

That’s ok. My 2013 Tacoma will still be turnin’ and burnin’ when all these Ford “Mavericks” are on the scrap heaps.

They should have called it the Ford Shetland Pony or after a car that caught on fire if you hit the rear gas tank.

Nothing says burning up down the highway like a Ford Pinto.

Wasn't mocking it at all. It was a decent attempt at a Japanese compact fighter and indeed did sell well.

I had a friend that drove on in high school in one of my favorite Ford colors of the era (at least the name) Anti-Establish Mint
