A friend teaches HS English and the use of plurals is so tough for many blacks. That and prouncing a th as an f, such as: wiff, norf, souf. Also mayonnaise is stated as mernaise and funeral as furnal. Just sayin.

Why is that though? Also, the proper use of ‘be’ seems to butchered as well.

Of course, it has to be just a learned vernacular but it’s soooo widespread and seems to transcend other societal boundaries such as education and class. It truly seems to be a black thing. It’s strange, indeed.

Read something interesting about the black use of "be" recently. It claimed that "be" in Black English isn't just an unconjugated, incorrect version of "is" or "am." Rather, it's its own tense.
Supposedly these people showed a picture of Cookie Monster just sitting there to black kids, and asked two questions:
1. Is Cookie Monster eating cookies?
2. Does Cookie Monster be eating cookies?
The answer to #1 was almost universally "no." The answer to #2, though, was "yes."
