My wife and son had CV symptoms in early March before this was a thing. She wants to pay $100 to get tested. If she finds out she had it, is it fair to assume everyone in the household had it? We weren't socially distant while she had a cough and sore throat, but I didn't show any symptoms.

Thoughts?

Well she is your wife. So we can assume you probably didn’t get close enough to catch it.

What exactly do you plan to do with the knowledge that you can't do now?

I think it’s safe to say that you were the symptomless carrier who gave to both of them...

This whole thread is as an opportunity for him to tell us he had sex in early March.

I would love for my wife to get the test and have it be positive.
I could get some relief from her worrying.

No need for your wife to get tested. I tested negative and we would both have it if one of us did.

Saved you $100 but I’d wash your sheets.

Sister works C19 icu and exposes, quarantined for 20 days before testing negative. BIL and nephew didn’t catch it or had no symptoms. BIL is 72 with underlying conditions, but in great shape. Niece, pregnant with issues and son had it, her husband didn’t to our knowledge. Both back at work. Not sure one can tell the tale. Going tomorrow to get screened.

Antibody tests that are available now have a very poor reliability rate despite advertising otherwise. Would wait until more reliable testing is available.

Make sure test has been approved by FDA (EUA approval)

Also, The upcoming one from Abbott is being tested at UW so not on list yet. Abbott thinks they can ship 20 million a month by June.
