People are assholes in parking lots as well. They forget the rules of driving and don't pay attention

Louisiana doing Louisiana things and waiting way too long to address traffic concerns, leading people to find shortcuts - one of which is to cut between the parking lots and the hospital and go through downtown Covington that way.

One was off near the 59/1088 intersection on the donut shop side. That spot eats a car about every week.

Saw that going to Kazuko for sushi. It’s weirdly very dark right there.

I don't know why we can't build parking garages. The hospital isn't a pretty building. Just put a parking garage in the main parking lot.

sadly it wasn't - and her insurance probly wont cover it. when my wife became an insurance adjuster, she learned that if someone comes across the line, let them hit you - if you swear to avoid it, and you take damage to your car from hitting the curb - it is your fault.

The "passenger van" is the hospital employee shuttle bus ironically. Sad deal.

Everyone jumping on the driver of the van but there's the possibility the nurse was distracted and walked into traffic.

If it was in the crosswalk there is no magic shield when you step out into the road.

Another prime example of how idiotic it is to drive without a dash camera.

Well whats the law say? pretty sure it's you yield to pedestrians...

So the driver is in the wrong if you hit someone in the crosswalk.

now if shes j walking across 21 with oncoming traffic thats a diff story.

She was in the parking lot, it happened at 6:30 so it was dark. From those in the know, this is not the first time a shuttle van has hit someone there.

She's in real bad shape... need a lot of prayers right now. She has a 16 year old daughter and 19 year old son.

You got it.

I know quite a few of them, too.

They put that well-marked crosswalk there to avoid this exact scenario.

She is about to find out how good the hospital's health insurance plan is.
