Virginia seems to have a lot more of this lately -- dating back to the whole VT fiasco.

what law would have let us know he was going to be the next mass shooter?
A pre-crime law maybe?

most people just skim over a post like that. Your random caps make me think it’s crazy which it’s prob is
Good way to miss great information and a wonderful post because you're too immature to overlook some random capitalization.
Yay ignorance!

This is fricking stupid.
A friend of mine was killed in a car accident. The other driver had a suspended license. I’m so glad the laws worked and he was kept off the streets...

Sad situation.
Haven't read this whole thread but I expect it's the usual knee jerk mass shooting reactions.
More gun control!
frick you commie!

If a bunch of children getting murdered in their elementary school won't lead to any laws changing, I can't imagine any other type of mass shooting actually leading to any type of change.

I'm not advocating for any. I just hate the knee jerk reactions before we know all of the details.
Most of the people that have committed these crimes showed some pretty telling signs of being mentally unstable.

Will the gun controlls care since he was black and didn't use an "assault" rifle?

Hey we didn’t ban postal workers back in the day. They just started more stringent hiring practices

Not sure how.
I read that there are over 390 million civilian-owned guns in the US (population ~325 million).
There are simply too many guns for any law to really work. There's nothing the government can do aside from confiscation, and we know that'll never happen. There will always be a gun available.

Yeah I think any logical person understands there are too many guns in the US for any gun control approach to truly have an impact.
Doesn't mean we should just mail it in, but we'll have to be creative and comprehensive.

The first president to try to outright ban handguns would see huge losses in the midterm elections.
The prospect of gun control turns out voters in huge numbers, mostly for the pro-gun side.

Like what? Private sales and inheritance aren't tracked so they don't really know who owns what. That's by design.
The government isn't supposed to even keep the database of serial numbers matched to the purchaser for more than 24 hrs (or something like that) but I doubt they follow their own laws.

Registration is one step away from confiscation

So by that logic then cars and pipes should be banned..... Just because a gun can be used in a crime like a car is breaking the law and speeding.
Cars and pipes aren’t constitutional rights though.....

10 years ago this would have been a huge story. Today it's just another shooting rampage.
And yet there's been private ownership of firearms since the beginning of this country. It's almost as if other factors than private ownership of firearms is responsible...

Uhh yeah, except we have that thing called the constitution.
