Louisiana has a lot of problems and my wife and I moved away to raise our family in another state so I get it is easy for me to say this. But this time of year man I always miss the hell out of Louisiana. We joke around a lot about the “cultcha” but Louisiana culture is a real thing and it is special. You can’t get it anywhere else and it doesn’t really travel. The world would absolutely be a worse place without everything that makes Louisiana what it is. Absolute 100% respect to all of you the good people who are staying in Louisiana and making a life there and doing your part to make it work. You all are appreciated more than you know.

I’m a lifelong resident of Louisiana, and I like it here. My family’s close by, the Cajun food and crawfish scene are great. It’s not perfect, but I’m happy. Love LSU and the Saints as well.

Louisiana is pretty much a shithole from the Arkansas border to the Gulf.

Be glad you got out and living your life somewhere else. Plus, one day, your kids will thank you.

We lived outta state a long time. We missed the unique qualities Louisiana has. Music, food, LSU, and bayous certainly were missed but I'd have to say the people were missed the most.
Moved back 5 years ago and while there are still great people it's easy to see so many outside influences. Not so sure I would move back if I had a do over.

You forgot about the crime, horrible education system, poor infrastructure, poor health services, high STD rates, high cancer rates, poor economy tied to the petroleum industry with no reinvestment back into the state, environmental pollution, eroding away our coastline, corrupt politicians…..good stuff

North Louisiana has always reminded me of the Scottish Nobels in Braveheart that fight with you when the getting is good but when just a little adversity is shown they run away and take a bag.

It’s clear the dna is different.

I love Louisiana a lot. I’ve traveled all over the state and country my entire life. I still love Louisiana despite its flaws.

You are correct. The DNA of south Louisiana is made up of short, cheating, back stabbing ignorant alcoholics. Don’t get me wrong, you boys can cook and are fun to party with but wouldn’t trust a one of you with my wife, my money, or any business dealings. Just look at our state politicians. We have the most crooked politics in the country and the majority of our politicians are from south Louisiana.

Did it for 22 years. Raised my kids, got a divorce and moved back to Louisiana. So for, so good.
