It's just perpetuating the cycle. Lather, rinse and repeat.

What killed the English language was when shallow, self centered, and stupid people allowed emotion to replace meaning in words

Rap? I work with some guys with heavy cajun accents.

I'm worried I'll start picking up bad habits soon, me.

The first time I realized that the verb "to be" was commonly abused by the people with a different colored skin was a line, early on, in the comedy "Designing women".

Someone asked the black guy on there was he wanted and he replied "always to use the verb "to be" correctly". I fell out of my chair laughing.

It was only later that I realized that much of the population wouldn't get it.

I still listen to rap and I know how to speak well.

If you are going to criticize one person for the improper use of the English language, you have to criticize everyone. It's hard to find someone who speaks the Queen's English.. Plus, people talk different depending on their environment.

Language is ever evolving you stupid idiot. It can't be "ruined".
If you went and tried to speak your idea of English in 17th century England then they'd probably throw you in the Tower of London for being a retarded witch.

This is not a new idea.

Music slang has consistently integrated into the colloquial speech idiom since the fifties.

Pretty much the entire American English language is adapted slang from other languages and areas.

It isn’t just rap. It’s the General degradation of language. They are taught that words can mean whatever and that language is interchangeable and there is no “wrong way”...and although there is a modicum of truth to that things have been taken too far.

Texting doesn’t help. They are developing their own little dialects.

And they speak like morons (many at least)

“Like...ummm, y’know”

Pet peeves.

I lose respect for someone when they don’t spell out a word in a sentence, without reason.

Preposterous. There’s civilized speech and then there’s the uneducated “low speech”.

I am of the notion I would be perfectly at home.

But I do like burning witches...
