It's about whether the officers were justified in taking this man's life. I don't think they were.
One way or another, the real argument becomes how much power should officers be granted in regards to sentencing, isn't it? When you have people saying things like an officer is justified in beating a perp once they catch them because they deserve it, you're allowing officers to hand out a punishment instead of just apprehending.
Those situations are bad enough, but they become horrible when situations like this occur and a guy, admittedly, is doing something stupid but because officers are granted such wide authority to dispense lethal force at even the hint of harm they are quick to shoot first and ask questions later. We'd NEVER accept this behavior if these had been regular citizens in a scuffle with another citizen and we'd recognize it for just how disproportionate their action was in response to the perceived threat.
Many here seem to want this...failing to realize that when you grant that level of authority you may one day end up in the cross-hairs even without having done anything wrong.

Seems a little less range time and a little more conflict resolution training is more than needed. They chased him down to shoot him.
The cop against the wall at least looked to lose heart in killing him.

I cant believe some people in here are actually trying to justify the cops actions in this case. "Dont throw rocks at cops", "play stupid games, win stupid prizes". The cops in this scenario were complete pussies and they should absolutely get the book thrown at them. This case is completely different from the Michael Brown case (which was a justified shooting). If I were to shoot someone for throwing rocks at me, I would go to jail. If a pussy cop shoots someone for throwing rocks at them, they get leave of absence. That is the precedent being set.

Some people will attempt to justify anything.

After that choke hold debacle in NY, I have 0 faith cops will be held accountable in most cases.

Cops will get off, they always do. frick the Police.

This is why you tell your kids to never throw rocks, especially around folks with guns.
I would not want to be a cop but there's zero chance I pull my gun and shoot a guy running and throwing rocks.

Does anyone really know what went on prior to the video? Cause the first reports on Trayvon and the Gentle Giant were not even close to the truth. Hell, even the second and third reports were tall tales that rivaled Paul Bunyan
Doesn't matter what happened before the video.

Not sure how us normal people living in a society where we follow the law for the most part and respect police officers in the very few times we come across them, have something even remotely close to this happen to us.
It's difficult to have run in with the cops that turns bad when i'm busy working, playing with my children, eating, and sleeping 99% of the time.
At no point in my life will i ever be in a situation where a cop has a reason to do anything physical with me.

How many "botched raid" stories would I have to post to convince you that "normal people living in society" are routinely victims of police incompetence and overzealousness?

Here are, at least, 100.

Six police from Houston's anti-gang task raid the home of Pedro Oregon Navarro. Officers storm his bedroom, where Navarro awakes, startled and frightened, and reaches for his gun. Police open fire and shoot Navarro twelve times, killing him. His gun was never fired. Police found no drugs or evidence of drug use or sale in Navarro's home. Police obtained Navarro's address after pulling over a car of three men, one of whom they arrested for public intoxication. Already on probation, the suspect offered a "tip" on a nearby drug dealer in exchange for his release. Police agreed to the bargain, and obtained Navarro's address from the suspect. The officers who shot Navarro were fired. Only one was charged. A jury took about an hour to acquit him of misdemeanor criminal trespass.

Laurens Co, Georgia: A burglar went onto the Hooks' property and stole an SUV. After he was captured, he then told the police that he found drugs in the car. The police got a warrant and, without announcing themselves, broke down the back door. The homeowners thought the burglars were returning and so retrieved a gun. The police open fired and David Hooks was killed.

I wonder about the mindset of alot of officers. Sometimes you have to be ready to shoot but in a situation like that I would much rather get hit in the face with a rock than kill someone.

This is bad.
But, they'll be jury nullification as in the nationally prominent recent cases.

This is just dumb as shite from some self righteous think they know it all's. If this were two civilians, the rock thrower gets slapped with a range of misdemeanor assault to attempted murder depending on the size of rocks and force used among other things. In all likelihood, if a civilian would have shot this guy based on what we can see in the video, he'd be charged with murder. So a guy with a badge is allowed to use deadly force for a crime that would likely result in a fine and anger management class? For the safety of the public, these guys need to be made an example out of. Don't put the badge on a pedestal. Our armed forces are not even allowed to off someone in that manner in combat.

None of these video can be submitted as evidence because they were shot vertically.
