The officers in this video are very clearly are grossly incompetent.
All the way from the start.
Aiming the gun with your finger on the trigger at the elevator door.
Switching trigger hands a few times.
Taking the elevator to a situation with guns drawn and pointing out the elevator.
Failing to secure the hallway.
Screaming from down the hallway at a closed out of view hotel door in a hotel hallway.
Having a suspect immobile and on the ground and not cuffing him
Telling a drunk and complying suspect to lock his ankles together put his hands straight in the air and wobble towards you without falling or bracing himself or he'll be shot.
After that shooting they just ran past him. No further orders to the room. No further yelling at anyone in the room. No instructions to anyone in the hallway or the room.
Then they failed to open the door 3 times.
That entire video is evidence of gross police misconduct and incompetent training.

Exactly. The cases of Sterling and Brown were cases of cultural inability to comply with police. This guy was making every effort to comply to the point where he was in tears. If you can watch that video and not say that this guy was murdered im not sure what to tell you. And I am the kind of person who gives police the benefit of the doubt in these cases, this was fricking murder.

Absolutely, which is why the fricking union president shouldnt be allowed to testify. He isn't going to indict his union members and their department. The fact that people don't think in a situation like this, that guy is willing to perjure is ridiculous.

Just watched the video.
That was like some sick, twisted version of Simon Says.
Put your palms out on the floor, put your hands on your head, cross your legs, pull yourself into the kneeling positions while keeping your legs crossed and hands on your head, put your hands in the air, crawl towards me while in this kneeling position with legs crossed and hands in the air.
If you mess up, you will be shot.

At 3:46 the kid was reaching behind his back. Pause it if you don't believe that. End of story. Why don't these fools who keep getting shot LISTEN TO THE OFFICER! Just dumb, uneducated people who don't respect authority.

That’s not how it works. Cops are only protected if it is a lawful command.

Another thing that gets me....shooting an AR-15 in a hotel hallway, surrounded by hotel rooms and innocent bystanders doesn't seem very wise.

The cop was clearly trained to do what he did in my opinion. His commands were deliberate and precise, despite the illogic in the decision to shoot.
Without knowing any of the additional evidence and testimony, the only conclusion I can come up with is the officer was not convicted because he did what he was trained to do - that can remove criminal liability.
If there was testimony and other evidence that he was trained to shoot under those circumstances, that should serve up a very nice civil settlement, massive terminations/reassignments and a significant overhaul in the agency’s training curriculum. The family is going to get paid heavily in my opinion. The family won’t even need the best lawyer. The cheapest should do just fine.

The only logic in defending the cop is if the agency training is the reason the cop shot.
