That was inBev's/AB's decision.

if they would have apologized, turned 180 and axed every person who in any fashion were involved with this frickup in April, these people would likely still have their jobs today.

Certainly awkward seeing the reactions so far.

Good. They had nothing to do with that abomination of an ad campaign.

No, we feel bad for those people individually. We are happy that prioritizing ESG scores over fiduciary duty is finally backfiring in a big way for a major corporation.

The restructuring, the outlet reported, will eliminate corporate and marketing roles at major US offices, including in St. Louis, New York, and Los Angeles.
At least its just corporate and marketing jobs. Those are the departments that are responsible for this whole fiasco to begin with.

Does that include the DEI corporate workers?

These people you want to apologize DGAF. they have their parachutes packed and ready. We're seeing it in the petrochemical world. CEOs will shutdown and divest sites causing hundreds, sometimes thousands of regular folks unemployed, all in the name of ESG.

ETA: These upper managers are much like Congress, they are above the collateral damage threshold for bad decisions.

Always good to see a company let go of deadweight.

So they laid off 2% of their workforce.

They're throwing peanuts at us once again....

As a former Marine officer, I am highly embarrassed this turd of a CEO was also an officer in the Big Green Machine.

AB essentially sacrificed these employees and their families to make a social statement.

As paet of severence package I wonder if they gave them each a truckload of soon to expire beer. And free lifetime Bud Light cards.

They can find jobs at Yuengling and other growing companies. Beer sales are still similar just shifted. Growing beer companies need more staff with experience. Surprised a lot haven’t left on their own already.

Hopefully this is a lesson for other companies. If I’m in another company and am the CEO, I’m telling my marketing folks “don’t Bud Light my company”.

——

On Monday, the New York Post reported that four of the company’s top rivals were seeing huge sales, in stark contrast to Bud Light’s massive decline in sales numbers.

quote:

Modelo’s sales, on the other hand, were up 13.2 percent, while Yuengling, Coors Lite, and Miller Lite saw even bigger surges of 25 percent, 21.6 percent, and 16.9 percent respectively.

has any of the OT “centrists” dropped by to inform us that regardless of this: AB’s stock is on the rebound, we should’ve invested like they did, and that this is another silly political boycott by morons?
