This is not just for the elderly. The more all ages stay home the sooner this will be over.
My mom is 86 and doesn't go out. She is normally out 4-5 times a week. I pick up her groceries and things she needs and bring them to her house. We do not hug at this time. She is concerned and well aware what is at stake.

They are entitled. They have lived through the greatest economic boom in the history of the industrialized world. They went to college for pennies on the dollars. They had healthcare for a fraction of what it cost now.
They are in for a VERY rude awakening if shite actually hits the fan. I think all of this will be over in a couple of months, but when these older people start getting sick en masse because they didn't want "their freedom" taken away, they will be hollering the same shite about "their rights" when the hospital refuses them due to literally being out of supplies.
They aren't looking at the bigger picture. They are, in a word, shortsighted.
