None of the involved officers will be charged.

On April 20, Pasquotank County Sheriff's Office Investigator Daniel Meads, who is part of the multi-agency Albemarle Drug Task Force, requested a warrant to search Andrew Brown Jr., his home in Elizabeth City and his 2004 BMW.
The application for the warrant said that Dare County investigators had recorded Brown selling cocaine and methamphetamine to an informant on separate occasions in March.

Why were so many deputies involved, and why was there so much firepower? Wooten and Chief Deputy Daniel Fogg provided their reasoning in a video posted on Facebook the day after the shooting.
"This is an arrest warrant on felony drug charges. Mr. Brown was a convicted felon with a history of resisting arrest," Fogg said.
According to state Department of Public Safety records, Brown has been convicted on 12 felony drug charges, 12 charges of driving with a revoked license and 12 other misdemeanors since 1996. His last conviction was four years ago, and he was released from prison in August 2018.
Brown also has been charged 10 times with resisting arrest in the past 24 years. He was found guilty five times. On two other occasions, the charges were reduced, and three times they were dismissed.

I don’t remember this one. Losing track of all the career criminals that had it coming to them at this point

He tried to run over the officers serving the warrant and they shot him. The end.

Well goddam, he probably liked his chances of getting away with it again

Good for the cops..... the guy BROKE the law..... he should have just given up instead of running over police officers with his care..... he has himself to blame.

Looks like a justified use of lethal force to me.
When faced with a lawful arrest, suspects do not get to drive toward officers in a vehicle when they will reasonably conclude that you are subjecting them to the risk of serious bodily injury or death.

If you can’t try to run over police officers who are trying to arrest you for a felony, what can you do?

The problem is cops never use appropriate force in response. The correct thing to do here would be to jump out of the way and then hit him with your car. At most you should try to shoot his gas pedal foot but anything more than that is unthinkable.

I think the first few shots were probably justified but they should have laid off as he drove away unless they thought someone was caught under the car.

He flatly said multiple times the shooting started before Brown was driving forward, which clearly is not the case in the video.

I saw a lot of "just shoot his tires out" comments on Twitter.

Saw this yesterday. His family and attorney are saying that he wasn’t a threat, that just because he was a felon didn’t mean they needed to bring weapons and that when he tried to run (almost running over cops in the process) that there was no reason to open fire. They should have just “caught up with him later”.
No, I’m not joking.

Exactly!! No mother should have to fear for the life of her son every time he tries to run over a police officer!
