Reparations will change nothing. It will
Not lift impoverished people out of poverty. They will buy homes, cars, and material goods that will be worth nothing or they will lose in several years. Some might benefit but the majority would see no long term positives.
What about slaves from other social derivations? Will they be paid? Enslaved Chinese men built the railroads. This is a slippery slope but it seems we will be at that juncture sooner than later.
Also will that end all complaints of racism? No it won’t. This is the left agenda to establish continuous power over a further divided nation.
Making the taxpayer responsible for paying for the sins of people from 300-400 years ago is absurd. Slavery was shitty, but it helped
Build this country. Sadly it did it at the expense of a race sold into slavery by its own people. We have learned from that and evolved as a nation. It’s part of what separates America from shittier countries

They majority already have gotten reperations in the form of welfare for several years... they already don't know how to work, hold a job or be responsible, if they do this might be time for a lot of us to immigrate...

When it was derived, welfare was supposed to be a temporary program. Somewhere through the exploitation of the system that changed. Welfare became a way of life and not a short term means to an end.

Im all for limiting welfare to those who cannot work due to a medical situation. I'll cut my one time check for reparations as that trade-off. This is going to be awesome.

That is what disability is, short and long term, and it is also widely abused. I venture to guess that most here have a story of someone they know who legitimately needed disability, but they had to jump through months or years of hoops to actually get it. Some never get it.
