An idea for those who feel "oppressed" by the laws of our country by public_enemy

No. I typed out a question as to why people want to actually be oppressed, when they have no idea what actual oppression is.
Some of the replies I've gotten kind of sit in that mind set though. You jump to immediate conclusion that I'm advocating for these people to leave, when it's quite the opposite. Why are people gluttons for self inflicted punishment.

I'll just assume he left off the "y" and meant to type "any idea"

The simplest answer is you always get more of what you subsidize.
More outrage equals more media exposure. More media exposure leads to more funding, either through sympathy donations (See: Planned Parenthood and Jill Stein) or private funding for activist groups that can get the most attention.
It's always about the money.

Here are some examples of those who are "oppressed"
Women feel oppressed and want equality.
African Americans feel oppressed, comparing modern times to slavery and the Jim Crow Era
Illegal Immigrants feel oppressed because we won't open our borders to them freely anymore
Muslims feel oppressed by western ideas
However, current day America is one of the most democratic societies alive. People even have the ability to leave if they choose to, a freedom granted by the ability to speak freely about displeasure. Why aren't they leaving if it's bad for them?

The title is an idea
However. If you read the actual information, it's apparent that I'm looking for an idea as to why people feel the need to be oppressed.
You assumed that I was bashing these people, and maybe that's the mindset you grew up with or learned through time, however I'm trying to understand it

So where is this feeling coming from?
I think a good place to start would be the continual diminishment of the 4th amendments right to privacy, and the growth of the big brother state. Also the continued growth of the state and its' unprecedented (and world leading) rate of incarceration with very questionable results.
There are whole industries built on collecting and seizing money/property from people not even charged with crimes, and we now have laws set up to literally increase the amount of criminals for questionable fund raising purposes.
One might wonder why these things are needed in a "free" society.

He's asking a question, not making a statement.
It's a legit question as well.

I was a senior in HS when Reagan left office. Do you know what the SJW call of the times were then?
Just Say No. War On Drugs. War on anyone and everyone who didn't fit what old white men wanted.
We could start there with the discussions but it goes way way before the 80's. SJW BS isn't new, it's just wearing new clothes.

Selectively quoting a passage is just as good as putting words into somebody's mouth. That is one simple question into a much broader and fairly newer based question.
But by all means cas4t, if this is what you get from my entire post, you are FREE to make assumptions as you wish. This is what makes this country the best country in the world!

no, it's not. It sounds like you think all of this is faux outrage and if they don't like it here, they should leave.
If you don't want it to read that way, you should be less vague. And also use different words.

Funny that a poster who isn't even bothering to understand the text is shooting down my title. If you don't have anything more to contribute to this thread than "screw you pig", why are you here?

It's also a movement to demonize western culture in order to put forth socialistic, authoritarian policies and force people to accept it through guilt.
You must be familiar with Jordan Peterson's work. These are his beliefs about where all this SJW crap is coming from and it's pretty scary. Some might view this as another moral panic but I trust someone who's been in academia for decades.
Another example of "I'm oppressed too" is the ever-lengthening LGBTQRSTUV+ boxcar train.

This is another good example.
In the past (and in some present countries) homosexuals were and are killed for being just that. Not today

Actually it does. So I'll ask you.
What has the police done to you personally that has made you hate them so much?
