It was actually used, too.
Nowadays it's more of a decoration in homes.

I had hound's-tooth pants in those colors - my mom bought them for me to wear to church. Nobody though they were odd. I still have them just for the nostalgia, along with some parachute pants.

People now laugh at the green and gold, and then rush to paint white over their wooden cabinets to fit in with everybody else. Dumb trend, along with those horrible skinny horizontal tiles, they were bad in the 1950's.

Say, how much you want for that dishwasher?

Bet that 1970’s dishwasher works better than most new ones.

One of the best things about those old-school console televisions was being able to get a pillow and blanket and lay on the floor in front of the tv and watch until you fell asleep. lol

Had the exact same oven in our house growing up in the 1980's. Built like a tank with a real mechanical timer. Had a matching microwave built over it but we never really used it. Had a massive old Sharp CMM microwave/convection oven on a separate stand. Could bake a large pizza in it. My house had appliances that were made by General Motors when I bought it...

My mother still has that oven, it is built like a tank and still running strong. It was put in 1986. Still running strong 36 years later….

They had to replace their cook top once though.

I have no idea what your kitchen looks like, but when you are dead and gone... A simple white kitchen will still be acceptable.

Sure. But will the hospital rooms full of shiplap and throw pillows? There's a lot of ways to treat "white". Personally, I hate the sterile look of it and it's a major PITA to keep clean. But, I was never a fan of the wood paneling, peas and carrots look either.

My dad picked up a VCR that had been repo’d at OTASCO back around 1979. It was as large as a suitcase and had a significant amount of wood on it.

Are we saying the appliances in the old ads are "low tier"?
