If there are advanced beings in our "neighborhood", it was a tremendous undertaking for them to travel here. Even if they've gotten interstellar voyaging down pat by now, this would be based on eons of discoveries and technology that got them to this point.
Now, after all this effort, to fly to Earth and bypass all of our natural wonders on their way to our assholes seems like a waste to me. It is the part of alien abductons that just doesn't make much sense.

Satellites and the ISS can reflect light down on you with the right angle. I’ve had that happen before and it is very strange when you don’t know what it is.

Probably the landing light and since it was night unaided flight it is a requirement to be on when taking off or landing. You just happened to be exactly in the right place at the right time for it to shine on you.

It’s probably just the plane’s landing lights. They are basically extremely bright headlights that point downward.
