We got a lot of construction workers and oil jobs and messicans who don’t have or need a bachelors.
Where I work we have some Mexican guys who barely speak English that we sub out concrete work to and they make solid cash.
The people, especially the immigrants, who learn to do the construction work can make great money.

Asks snarky question with an answer in mind
Answer turns out completely wrong
“Yeah well let’s check in 60 years, huh!!”

The Volunteer State steps up with a good economy and great infrastructure. But quality of life could use some help.
Nice.

Like the woodlands?
And Dallas isn’t a forest, but there are a ton of trees here. I don’t know where the notion that we don’t have trees came from. Maybe going north into the burbs, but not Dallas proper.

Dallas has trees. But they tend to be shorter, so it can only break up the "burnt" landscape so much. Better than other places in TX, of course.
To be fair, if you like tree coverage nowhere can compare with Atlanta among major cities. It's kind of ridiculous really, but once you grow accustomed to it really is a big change to think about living somewhere without it.
As I get older and we talk about moving to Dallas more and more, the landscape and the heat are the only things that really give me grief. I can deal with the Dallas summer heat because it's usually a little dryer, it's the 92 degree highs on a random Mid-October day that I can't stand.

Charlotte is much like Atl in that respect.

Texas schools are good compared to the rest of the south, compared to the rest of the country it’s still below average. I would put the nice suburban school districts in Houston/DFW/Austin up against almost anywhere though
bingo
we are in The Woodlands and the schools my kids attend are fantastic.
